Rest in Peace, Lenzman. 🕊️❤️ The global drum and bass family has lost a true titan, an immaculate artist, and an absolute pioneer of soulful liquid DNB. Having flown the flag for the liquid funk sound myself over the last three decades, I know I speak for the entire community when I say that Teije’s impact on our scene is immeasurable. It’s been a heavy, heartbreaking weekend of reflection. Within my own extended network, we are also processing the sudden, tragic loss of Dominic Taylor, a reminder of the quiet, unanswered questions that life can leave behind. Sending absolute love and strength to his family and friends. In times of grief, the music becomes our sanctuary. Lenzman was a master craftsman who was fiercely dedicated to his sound. Everything he touched musically turned to gold. Through his timeless productions, his iconic releases, and his vision with The North Quarter, he infused pure soul, jazz, and hip-hop into the framework of drum and bass, constantly bringing people together and changing lives for the better. It is devastating to know we won’t hear a brand new frequency from him again. But true music never dies. Lenzman leaves behind a sprawling, golden catalog that will live on for lifetimes. Platforms like Liquid Heaven, and curators, DJs, and broadcasters worldwide, will proudly fly his flag and spin his anthems eternally.
