2026: New Zealand’s Strongest Man & Women

Amazing effort putting this comp together by @nzstrongest & @engineeredstrengthgym in Christchurch

Such a close battle in the U90 category with @chris_reddiford taking out🥇place and @dropdead_fredz_u80kg taking out 🥉 epic to compete against you boys once again.

NZ Strongest Man 2026 U90kg 🏆

And again. God damn they are the best words you can hear. This makes it 5 years in a row with 7 in total, and one of the best parts, is still being able to compete and hang out with my mates. Although winning does feel good 😅

2 comps only 1 month apart has definitely left it toll on my body, as i tweaked a nerve in my lower back 2 weeks ago, which was the end of my comp season. It took a week and an extra 5kgs on the scales, but the body settled enough to decide it was worth the risk. 8.8kg water cut, executed by the best @whatmegdoes_ and i was fueled and good to go.

4 event wins and 1 second and it still came down to the last event with a 2 second spread for 4 of us. I had to sell my soul to take the win, with a dive and a scrape of the finger tips.

It was epic to finally have a nationals down in Christchurch and be able to have my family and friends come down and support. A massive thanks to the biggest supporter and main reason that I am able to train and focus to defend my title @rachelreddiford

A big off season is needed to recover the body is definitely and will mean having to miss OSG in order to be able to rest and rehab my back and ankle. I'll be coming back next year to defend my title and chasing down them double digits

Day 1 Natural Strongman Worlds- 7th at the end of day 1

1 great performance, 1 good ish performance & 2 very sub performances, to give myself a very restless sleep after day 1

Event 1- 240 kg Squat for reps- 2nd place - 3 reps and a big pb. Fist bumps from Luke for good luck 🫡

Event 2 - Push carry & drag- 7th place w. 44.92 sec a slip on the line with 1cm to go, lost me the win on this event and 6 valuable points 🤦‍♂️ rookie errors , but 1 week of training this, so I can't really complain

Event 3 - 130/ 110kg log for rep - 10th place w. 110 x 1 went for the 130kg & completely misread how cooked i was was the last event finishing 20 ish mins before. Rookie error

Event 4 - 130kg ph Farmers carry for 30m - 14th place w. 22.47m. Another dissapointing farmers event, trained for it and still didnt finish the distance 🙄

Ended day 1 in 7th place and dissapointed at my execution and performance, as i should have been in a podium spot. Day 2 was always going to be a better day, as there was no farmers carry and lots of points up for grabs

🥉 2026 Natural Strongest Man u90kg

Back to back 3rd place & couldn't be more chuffed with the outcome. 7 events over 2 days & I really don't like the title ive started to get, but the comeback king is starting to makes sense.

I was 7th after day 1 this year and last year & dug deep for day 2 and clawed back to the podium both times.

Managed to pick up 3 x 2nd place finishes over the 7 events, with 2 of them being static, which I am chuffed with, as ita always my weakness.

Picked up an injury 6 weeks out & had to eat some humble pie and not train events and do what I could, when I could. Strapped my ankle like nothing else for the end of prep and comp and tried to pretend nothing was wrong, but my conditioning didn't lie at the end of the day and that showed on the score sheet.

Small errors and fatigue cost me valuable points, but getting on the podium for a second year in a row is more than I could have ever asked for.

Everyone forgets that it takes a village to be able to come to the other side of the world to chase your dreams and my wife @rachelreddiford is the top of the list. 2 young kids at home and trying to train and then fly 30 + hours to the otherside of the world for a 'hobbie' yea, i have a lot to be thankful for.

@naturalstrongman for putting on an unreal comp and then @cerberus_australia for being my sponsor and providing me all my kit, that holds me together throughout the entire prep and comp. All the spotters and loading and refs, that give up their weekends and backs, to help out of their goodness of their hearts, its not over looked or under appreciated 🫡

The most understanding coach @strengthzen__ who probably wishes I followed my program more or atleast updated my spreadsheet 😂 but with 5 odd years together now, we think for to a like that I probably take it for granted, as he is doing something right.

The sixth event at Cerberus Strength @naturalstrongman World’s 2026 was the yoke into Circus Dumbbell (330kg yoke, 60kg & 70kg dumbbell) for the U80kg Men @chris_reddiford completed all 3 in 31.46 seconds
