I’ve long held the believe that perfection is not the goal, nor is it truly possible. However, the more I unmask & examine the processes in my mind, I see that I’ve chased it. Often just moment to moment. Say the perfect thing, choose the perfect option, etc…I’ve recently had a mental health assessment regarding OCD that while validating, has also been unsettling in the sense of recognizing the impact throughout my life. It’s opened a kind of grief for paths not taken & such. Still, the validation is no small thing. I can find more grace for myself when I’m not who I set out to be on any particular day. It’s not a diagnosis, so I don’t let it define everything, but it’s illuminating all the same. I’m still in the shit of processing what this will ultimately mean for myself, but it feels better confirming that I’m not just imagining the things I find difficult, as well as helping me navigate those things more easily. Tl;dr - another man finally getting proper therapy & having pretty basic “revelations” & stuff. But if you’re also someone that has put things off for any number of reasons, this is a reminder that it’s never too late to make things a little better. Just know that it’ll probably get a little worse too. But that part will fade if you keep doing the work. Anyway, hope you enjoy the photos which are related but also not. by @chrisagerard

Ok, did someone do this??? I’ve wanted to take a photo like this for a while, just been waiting for the right sign to present itself. Then I rode my bike by this & kinda couldn’t believe it. I still don’t know if I do. It’s entirely plausible that this happened coincidentally, but also that’s what I want to be true. Idk, it’s just too perfect & I’m skeptical lol by @chrisagerard

MAJESTIC TO CARECare has been hard for me lately. Or moreso, the motivation to do so has been hard. The desire is ever present, but the acts have been lacking. Functioning generally has been hard if I’m being honest. Sorry to anyone I’ve been bad at communicating with. It’s certainly not because I don’t care. Just struggling to turn that care into reality lately. The burnout is so real, which many of you already know all too well. Still, life marches on. Towards a new moment where new things can happen. Better things even. So I’ll keep looking out for the signs, & I hope you’re doing the same.In the mean time, don’t forget to take care. by @chrisagerard

Got to @duckrabbitcoffee a little after close yesterday because I forgot to check the hours 🤦🏻‍♂️, but luckily they were nice enough to let us in tocheck out the show I’m in with @beckybailey__ . They offered to set some things up a bit while I took photos (which was very generous of them :)), but I couldn’t help but appreciate the tonal balance of the closed coffee shop with the themes of the work. I always end up back to photographing flowers. Especially when my mental health is doin its thing of clouding every thought like it was yesterday when I took these. I’m so grateful for our garden. It’s been one of the most consistent sources of peace & purpose. Cannot recommend planting (native) flowers enough. Tell me your favorite & if you think I should post more photos I’ve taken of the garden this spring. I have… a lot. by @chrisagerard
