Flashback 1994. @spyderactive shoot. I was on Straight skis 205cm @head_rebels TR6 GS Cut, no helmets and this was shot on 16mm film by Nick Nixon. He used a long lens and would have to pull focus while keeping a fast moving skier in the shot. Heavy camera and tripod plus battery and extra reels of film. Nick like all cameramen then would rely on a light reader to decide exposure settings, as well as film speed. They would carry a portable darkroom so they could reload on the mountain in the snow. There was no instant playback to see if shot worked. They would take the exposed canisters to development and get developed film back days or weeks later. The more I think about all this compared to how ski movies are shot now it blows me away. The ripping female skier in the shot is @kristiblovin . She is skiing on 200cm skis as well. We shot a lot together. First time I saw her free ski she was ripping through a mogul field with Giant Slalom race skis complete with a binding plate.

I recently volunteered to speak at an amazing luncheon at the @fairmontgranddelmar to an audience I must say I was beyond nervous to stand in front of. Especially when my AV was not working. Their mission was clear and I had to try and marry my topic to it. They were patient with me. This luncheon to benefit @miraclebabies . Something as you all know the children in our world through my project @chrisanthonyyouth . It was a beautiful event as you can see as well as raised $310,000 for the Miracle Babies mission. Thank you for the invite @attorneymarj and hospitality @maryamfam & Ray by @chrisanthonyski

I stood amongst giants this week. Olympic Gold Medalist @conniecarp . One of her legendary wins. She would actually race with us ( The men ) in the Pro peloton for training. Her husband @davis.phinney with 328 professional wins including 2 @letourdefrance stage wins and Olympic medal. His career was insane . He was referred to as the cash register for taking so many primes. I got in a break with him and @royknickman once when I was still a junior. Highlight of my bike racing career. With us is @brendabuglione1 , skiing icon. We came together to honor David Jacob’s life. The next photo was the night before when I hosted @coloradosnowsportsmuseum HOF. I’m standing with Colorado Athlete of the year, Olympic Gold, Silver & Bronze medalist @alexferreiraski . He has also won numerous other titles and has a hilarious YouTube following were he dresses up as old man then shows up at terrain parks where all the teen park rats are fooled into thinking this gramps is going to kill himself. Till he schools them. by @chrisanthonyski

Today we celebrated the life of David Jacob’s in Boulder Colorado. Amongst his many accomplishments a couple of them were creating @spyderactive @pearlizumiofficial . He was a mentor as well as sponsor of mine. Also part of the @coloradosnowsportsmuseum HOF where we acknowledged him last night during the induction ceremony in @beavercreek at the @vilarpac taken in Boulder, Colorado by @chrisanthonyski

Today I had the honor of speaking at the annual @miraclebabies luncheon @fairmontgranddelmar . A spectacular setting with a very generous and beautiful audience . Thank you @attorneymarj and @maryamfam for the invite. I was more nervous about this than dropping into avalanche terrain. Thank you for the support. by @chrisanthonyski

This loss hits me hard. I’ve written a letter to the @vaildaily tonight hoping it will help me reflect on and process the impact this man had on our industry and on my life.
Mr. Gillett sat me down in front of his desk while I was still in school and listened to me pitch an idea. I was 18. He was a very busy man. The idea never went anywhere, but the lesson I learned from him allowing me to do that did — along with so many conversations that followed.
Thank you for your time.
