He’s finally home! Tim left University Hospital in Columbia and was transferred to rehab here in KC last evening! His family and friends are so happy to have him close by and so proud to see him make such huge strides in his recovery in such a short period of time. Tim still has a very long recovery ahead of him as his brain learns to heal and piece his memory, thoughts and speech back together, but he is motivated to work hard and overcome all of this. Thank you again for everyone for your support and well wishes! A special thanks to Mark Mcculley for his help navigating us through the whole rehab transfer process. Life can change in a second. We've held off on saying anything publicly because we weren't sure what was going to happen but last Saturday one of Derrick Rieke and I's best friends Tim Brown had an accident while at the Lake of the Ozarks with us. We found him laying unconscious in the parking lot where he apparently had fallen and hit his head. He was unresponsive, stopped breathing and needed CPR. He ended up being airlifted to University Hospital in Columbia, MO. He didn't really begin waking up until Monday. He's suffered multiple fractures of the skill and face, and a traumatic brain injury including bleeding and significant bruising. Tim had significant enough damage to the surface of his brain to wipe out his ability to communicate, understand what was going on, what happened or who he or anyone was. This week started full of fear, tears and uncertainty. We were unsure when or even if Tim would be able to talk, or walk again. He's made so much progress this week and is getting so much better at talking and getting up and moving around. His memory is starting to piece itself back together. Tim is still in neuro ICU, but he's making a remarkable recovery so far. This is going to be a very long journey for him, but at least we are starting to get back the Tim we all know and love. There's been some significant challenges, but we've pushed him and he's been so strong and really fighting hard. We cannot thank family and friends enough for all their love and support. Derrick and I are doing everything we can do to be there by his side along with his amazingly supportive family to help guide him through this recovery. Also, we are so ever grateful for the people that were directly involved in saving his life last Saturday night. Please keep Tim and his family in your hearts as we navigate these challenging times ahead. ❤️ @derrickrieke @timpire taken in University Hospital - Columbia, MO by @chrisawebb
