The biggest challenge for me, post ankle fusion was always going to be the recovery side. Undergoing another surgery knowing that I would be off my feet for a few months with the hope of being pain free one day. But seeing these stats today has been a big indication of the positive impact my fusion has had. Yes, I’m still building and continue to rehab but it feels good to be back on track with the steps I’m taking and the kilometres I’m cycling.

So glad I took the leap to have my ankle fused and grateful for the surgeons, and all the medical staff involved. and I know this will help a lot of people, as I get so many messages of support and your own personal stories, which I will try to reply to.Thanks for your continued support as I build again Bash 🚂 by @chrisbasham6

Rough one yesterday, 2 of 2 Another operation and hopefully the end of the book and closure on the ankle it’s been very painful for a while now and this planned operation is what I hope was needed .
The support beyond the game from family, friends and @Sheffieldunited as I transition feeling positive physically and mentally with this one we shall see 🚂!! Updates along the way! by @chrisbasham6

1 out of 2 surgery’s completed today to hopefully get closer to being pain free it’s been rough 2 years but it was never going to be a straight climb to the view lots of ups and plenty downs …. Always supported by family friends amazing fans and @sheffieldunited sticking with me with there ongoing support.
Lots of change over the 2 years and transition plenty of steps forward 🚂 will let you all no how recovery goes leading into the next op. Bash by @chrisbasham6

Last March I received a phone call from Chris Wilder. He asked me if I would be interested in managing a team at Bramall lane for @chrisbasham6 testimonial. As a Sheffield Wednesday my first reaction was “not a chance..”

Chris then explained that all money raised would go towards @westonparkcancercharity to purchase a game changing MRI Scanner and with that I was sold.

This week we were told it raised £294,547.

I want to thank Chris Wilder, Chris Basham, Francesca and everyone at @sheffieldunited and Weston Park for allowing me to be a part of a very special day.

Cancer has no colours. We are still needing more to secure this scanner so please head over to the charities page and donate if you are able to.

A few months back I experienced one of the best send offs any player could wish for having my team mates by my side back at @sheffieldunited and with that raising funds for @westonparkcancercharity the total is in an astonishing £294,547!!!!

I would like to Thank EVERYONE who donated came to the game and supported me and give the huge support to Western parks (scanner appeal).

This impressive total will support our largest ever appeal ‘see it. treat it.’, aiming to raise £1.85 million to bring a pioneering MRI simulator to Sheffield 💜.
