POSTS STORIES REELS
Five years ago today, the Atlanta @Braves won the World Series. Still sounds pretty damn good. So this seems like a fitting time to share one of my favorite photos of all time, from our recent family reunion: four generations of Carroll Braves fans, from my 90-something great-uncle John Carroll, who helped start it all, to my nephew Colin Carroll, who’s just getting started. The story starts with Uncle Johnny taking my dad @DavidCarroll3 to his first #Braves game on July 14, 1966 — the team’s very first season in Atlanta. And because baseball history is endlessly perfect, a relief pitcher named Clay Carroll threw 2⅔ innings that day, and Joe Torre hit a walk-off homer to give the Braves a 7-6 win over the Houston Astros. Sixty years later, Uncle Johnny is still active, still traveling, and still a Braves man. For my brother @VinceCarroll and me, the Braves have been one of the great constants of our lives. Thousands of games watched, countless conversations, plenty of heartbreak, lots of hilarity and merriment, and some extraordinary memories. One of the best came during the magical 2021 postseason, when Dad, Vince, my sister-in-law @Windmueller23, and I watched the Braves beat the Dodgers on a walk-off hit in the NLCS. @LadyTaylorNoel and I were there when the Braves clinched the pennant later that series. And this is hardly just a tradition among the Carroll men. My grandmother Ruth Carroll followed the Braves well into her later years, my mom @CindyCarroll9 and Aunt @MamawElaine have been cheering them on for decades, and Taylor and Rachel are every bit as invested as the rest of us. It’s always been something that brings us together, and that’s one of the many, many things I love about being a Braves fan. And then there’s Colin. The Chipper Jones comparisons are wildly premature, but the Carroll family scouting department is very high on him. Sixty years, four generations, one baseball team. And the next chapter is just getting started. Go Braves! by @chriscarrolldc
Chillin’ with our best pal and all-star nephew, “King” Colin Carroll! by @chriscarrolldc
I’m proud to be my parents’ son every day. But the pride is poppin’ a little extra today for this great guy. Everyone in Chattanooga knows @DavidCarroll3 has crushed it at @Local3News for as long as I’ve been alive. But what they don’t see every day is how epic a dad and grandfather he is: sharp as a tack, funny as hell, and encouraging beyond measure. There was never a time I felt pressured to do this or do that. Instead, he simply did his part to provide the tools and stability for @VinceCarroll and me to learn, work, play, and succeed on our own terms. And that’s all you can ask for in a father! We’ve been very blessed. Being a “sure thing” in the news anchor chair is a big deal. But bringing that same reliability to being a dad is what really matters. This picture was taken three weeks ago when he visited Washington, DC, to see some baseball and Ringo Starr in concert. Getting to experience the big leagues of the greatest sport on Earth and see a Beatle (!) with your dad is pretty damn cool. I’m still thrilled he made the trip. I’m quite fired up to watch him enjoy this new chapter. I’ll be lobbying him to take @CindyCarroll9 on lots of fun trips. And he’s already an amazing grandfather to young Colin Carroll. That boy is going to learn so much and laugh so much with his Papa D—I know it because I’ve lived it! Finally, big thanks to everyone who has shared such kind words and stories about Dad. It’s been really cool to see how much he means to so many people. by @chriscarrolldc
Few better ways to spend 30 hours than flying to ATL to see America’s Team give it one more shot in ‘26 with the great @VinceCarroll. Just an outstanding, hilarious evening despite the result. The big consolation prize, as a wise friend said, was seeing my nephew in Nashville! Colin Vincent Carroll continues to light up our family’s world. @LadyTaylorNoel and I can’t wait to see him again in 2 weeks! #Braves #BallerNephew by @chriscarrolldc
WOW. What a way to conclude our third year with season tickets to @MLB. Proudly wore our #Braves gear to a totally meaningless #Mets-#Nats game and what a treat to have the original #Braves guru @DavidCarroll3 with us in DC! Big thanks to Rick, our outstanding Section 117 usher, for taking this picture. Two of us will see @RingoStarrMusic in Washington tomorrow & the blondie will be at @Charli_XCX! by @chriscarrolldc
Happy Five-Year Anniversary to the one, the only, @LadyTaylorNoel! This photo makes me happy for a lot of reasons: She is sharing something new with me (the amazing and completely slept-on Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) as she wears something dear to us (Laguna Beach, California, sweatshirt, signifying our favorite place in the world), along with something practical/funny (that frickin’ fanny pack), which was the source of many laughs with our terrific friends @Knott_A_Mahoney and @GK401 during a marvelous weekend. I am insanely fortunate to have enjoyed lots of marvelous days and weekends and months and years with this wonderful wife I’ve known for nearly a decade and a half. Thank you, Taylor, for hanging with me in our marriage’s many high points as well as challenging times. You have allowed me to grow and get better and (try to!) get at your level. I am the definition of a guy who outkicked my coverage, outdid myself, ventured outta my league, etc. And it’s the best — I love you, T! #AndrewJackson #Alvin #Senator #Blondie #Princess by @chriscarrolldc
This is a book I’ve messaged many of my friends about. So if this is Round 2 for you, sorry not sorry 🤣 The CIA doesn’t write many books. (I get it!) But the historian in me is really glad the agency had an analyst pen this one. From Truman to Trump, the author digs into how each president preferred to be briefed, the questions they asked about world events, how their demeanors and moods differed, and much more. You get everything from the Bay of Pigs to 9/11 and beyond — and somehow it leaves you wanting more stories, additional detail, extra scoop. It’s the CIA, after all. But what a hell of a read. Let’s just say this: many different presidents and many different styles. Some liked to study; some didn’t. The book names ‘em all. Big thank-you to my lovely wife @LadyTaylorNoel for patiently listening to the various excerpts I read aloud last month while we were in Laguna Beach 😆 highly recommended! 🇺🇸 by @chriscarrolldc

Thank you all for the awesome birthday calls, messages, posts, and texts! It was great to hear from everyone and a terrific way to start my 39th year on the sunny shores of Laguna Beach, California. Cheers and love from @LadyTaylorNoel and me from our favorite place on the planet! by @chriscarrolldc
Home in Chattanooga & absolutely thrilled I’ve now visited Erlanger Park to see the Lookouts with the people responsible for getting me into the greatest sport on earth. It is an absolute 10 out of 10. I am so happy for my hometown! What an awesome experience with Mom and Dad. Of course, I’ll be back there tonite w/ friends. Hit me up if you’re around! Go Looks, Go Braves 😎 by @chriscarrolldc
