Dear James,

I hope you’ll know how MUCH I love you. But more than you, my own son, I will always love your mom even more.

I hope that you get all of her best qualities, her laugh, her heart, her hair (May the Lord give you my humor too if He gives you my hair)

Your mom and I have been hand in hand, heart to heart, tears with fear and tears with cheers. But she has never left my side and I never left hers. Two years of marriage has been challenging in and of itself, but it has been the greatest blessing in my entire life. I’ve lived a full life before your mom, but nothing in this world can make me miss it with you and her now in my life.

I hope and pray that you too will find this love someday. One that doesn’t last like a pretty sunset that ends when it’s night. But one that will test the time we have here on Earth.
