Congratulations to Chris Grothues (LHP, UCLA) on being selected as the 2025 FCA Baseball Athlete of the Year!

Chris started with FCA as a camper at age 8 and has been faithfully involved in the ministry ever since. Now a junior at UCLA and fresh off a College World Series appearance with the Bruins, Chris continues to lead both on and off the field.

He exemplifies what it means to be a total FCA athlete — competing for Christ with integrity, serving others with humility, and using his platform to make an eternal impact.

We will be honoring Chris along with our other 2025 award recipients on November 15th at our Lives Changed Ministry Celebration.

Join us for this event at the link in our bio!

Last night had the privilege of sitting down and talking to @chrisgrothues from @lbdirtbags formally of UCLA. Kid has an amazing story of perseverance. The veteran leadership and arsenal of pitches he’s bringing will tremendously help a Long Beach State team that is looking to make their run to Omaha in 2027. Check out his who story on IOTB YouTube and follow along with the #Dirtbags this season! #baseball #faith #GrowTheGame by @chrisgrothues

We are honored to have Chris Grothues join us for the Jesus Crusade and testify to the faithfulness and goodness of God at the Jesus Crusade on August 30th.

Chris will share how God carried him through injuries and ultimately to the College World Series, along with how God used him to start a Bible study and prayer group at UCLA that began with just three people and grew into a large group that continues to this day.

Come hear what God has done and worship Jesus with us!

Jesus Crusade
📍 Peralta Canyon Park, Anaheim
📅 August 30
⏰ 4:00–7:00 PM

This is a free, one day outreach to glorify Jesus and reach the lost. Believers, come ready to worship God publicly and bring your unsaved friends to hear the Gospel proclaimed simply and boldly.

We’ll have live worship from Anthem House, testimonies from men and women across Orange County, food and refreshments, and a night centered on Jesus.

It will be warm, so bring water and an umbrella for shade. Food and refreshments will also be available from a food truck.

Registration is not required. Everyone is welcome.

For all the details, visit JesusCrusade.co.

Come worship. Come hear the Gospel. Come bring someone who needs Jesus. by @chrisgrothues

UCLA Pitcher Chris Grothues thought his dreams were over. BUT GOD had a bigger game plan.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he'll make straight your path.
Proverbs 3:5-6
