Dear Travis,
When you were little, you had trouble speaking and we weren’t sure if you would ever learn talk. But as soon as you learned, you never quit. You always had so much to say and passions to pursue. You were a big kid with a bigger heart. We didn’t always have a perfect relationship, but you worked really hard to heal and make amends when things were damaged. We ended up growing close as adults, and I’m so grateful for that.

Thank you for being you. Thank you for being so energetic and positive. Thank you for listening to the music I loved and sharing the music you loved. Thank you for giving me a beautiful niece. Thank you for being there when I was at my lowest.

I wish I could’ve been there for you at yours. I wish you hadn’t done this. I wish I didn’t have to write this. I wish you had just listened to me. I wish you could have overcome your disease. I wish you had reached out to me, or anyone, when you needed help. I wish I could see you again.
