You know that feeling when you’re at a wedding and look around the room and it hits you that literally every single person you care about is in the same room having the time of their lives together? That’s exactly how the 15 year anniversary show felt this past Saturday. If you were there, I think you know exactly what I mean when I say that the energy we felt inside House of Independents was incomparable to any other show we’ve played. It was like a real life highlight reel featuring (almost) all of the people that have contributed to this band growing into the version it is today. Our parents, our siblings, our partners, some of the first people to book Halogens, people from high school we haven’t kept in touch with in years, and people that flew out or planned a road trip from other states to the show were all in attendance. We literally could not walk around the venue for more than a few seconds without someone stopping us to say hi and telling us how much they’d been looking forward to the show. As overwhelming as that may have felt initially, any panic quickly subsided into the purest feelings of joy when we looked around and fully processed that an insane amount of people came out on a miserably windy and rainy night to celebrate this milestone and the music we’ve written together. In the wise words of Kyle’s dad @tmbgrd253, as much as you all have told us how Halogens has been there for you, thank you for being there for us. To STATEN, Quality Living, ManDancing, HAGS, all the staff at House of Independents, Luke, Connor, Hailey, Chris, and Matteo- thank you all so much for helping us bring the idea of this celebration to life in such a meaningful way. We literally could not have done any of this without all of you. Thank you to everyone that came out on Saturday and to anyone that has been a supporter for any period of time over the last 15 years. We are so proud to belong to this community and we are so lucky that we get to keep doing this for many more years to come.
