I know I’ve shared this ‘99 image numerous times over the years, and here it is again for a few reasons…skating that plywood bouncy extension was do or ☠️. Pre social media I did this pivot at @jimthiebaud’s 🖤 and the following disaster (swipe) on command, and 99% of the time it was undocumented. • Pre 📱 we did this sh*t just to stoke out the homies on the deck and 🔥 up the session! I occasionally look back at this image to remind myself I’m capable of overcoming the majority of my fears (even ones that might feel life or death). Overcoming these challenges in skateboarding translates to our everyday life. It truly does. As skaters we get back up, dust ourselves off and get it done. ❤️‍🩹 No excuses. 💪🏽

Had lunch with the one and only Steve Rocco! This man gave me and @randycolvin18 a shot in 1990. I was skating at the beach, with Natas I believe, and message had come down from steve for me to call him. Pre cellphone, ☎️ I thought I was getting kicked off the team!

But it was the exact opposite...
Steve: Dune come into World tomorrow because we're turning you pro....
Me: like next year?
Steve: no like tomorrow. Come into World tomorrow because we need a graphic, your board will be out in 2 weeks.
Me: What?! Ok?! I better call my Mom.

So I dropped out of college much to the chagrin of my family, and stayed in Southern California. Boom! The rest is history! There would be no @stereoskateboards if it weren't for Steve! 2 months of 2-3 days a week in the gym, 2-3 days a week on my board, limited alcohol intake, limited fast food...and I barely recognize that miserable guy on the right with the boated face and double chin. 😆 • Get after it 💪🏽 folks. Results will come quicker than you think. Big love love my people! I'm no personal trainer but DM if you have basic questions or need motivation!

Ye ole faithful parking block made the journey from LA —> Goleta thanks to someone destroying our spot and me finding the curb in the bushes. Almost broke my back lifting that sucker up into my trunk that day! • Pulled er out of the garage today, and he’s pretty rugged a decade later! And well, ye ole faithful and me will soon be making the journey back to LA. • Added in a few random clips to jam out on The Cure tune more. Peace and love! G’night!

Ran out of light and time after the Dodgers 💙 game last night so no new @bluntsteel moves checked off the list but having Henry Dune ❤️ run around outside with me made it one of the funnest sessions. • These nightly sessions have been sort of like a meditation for me. ☮️ by @chrispastras

The DJ in me felt like playing ya’ll this moody yet beautiful jam tonight so I dug up some old clips/photos & whipped up an edit. • Often I like to edit to songs no one expects in a skate edit, or something many skaters deem as too mainstream. This song covers both of those things pretty well.

Honestly that’s always been one of the most enjoyable parts of @stereoskateboards videos and edits for me….cut to 1994 and “A Visual Sound”, oh you can only use Hip Hop and Slayer in skate videos now? Says who?! I took that as a creative challenge and an opportunity to buck the system. So how about delivering an entire video scored to one ten year old unreleased Jazz album…

Yo! Thanks for bearing with my on my nightly dusk 🌅 flatbar sessions. 🙏🏽 Not a lot of free time or spot options at the moment, and these @bluntsteel things are a lot of fun. • If you’re in my boat and swamped with adulthood, get out there for even 30-45 minutes a night!
