Today marks six months since I’ve lost my sister and my best friend. This is a letter I wrote a few months ago but haven’t been able to speak… I’ve been frozen.

Dear Vic,
My sweet, sweet Victoria…
You showed me so much love and kindness. You always knew how to brighten my day. I feel like a piece of me was torn away. Your laughter was contagious and your smile lifted spirits. You were the it girl and I looked up to you as one of my big sisters. You made everyone feel special and touched so many lives. I will never forget the past few months with you. We’ve had so many adventures together, so many ups and downs. Through it all you were always by my side. My favorite place to be with you was anywhere there was the beach or anywhere with water.
You really felt at home there.

You left us way too soon. Writing this is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.
There is so much that can be said but putting it into words is not easy.

Even now I find it hard to move onward. I find myself fighting not to follow you home. I know this wasn’t easy for you to do and I find myself still wondering what was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

I have a couple theories but at the end of the day I pray that God will have His way with whoever did this to you. I love you forever.
