My magnets, there’s a whole process to making these magnets. I roll out clay and stamp out each individual magnet, I make sure each is nice and smooth by wiping them down with a sponge, check in on them as they dry to make sure they’re drying flat, when they’re dry they go through the bisque kiln, next it’s glaze time, I paint each individual color of glaze on and not only one coat..multiple coats, look over each magnet and clean any graze messes up. Now they’re ready to go back into the kiln! When they come out, I look through to make sure each magnet looks nice and neat, no running glaze or weird discoloration and THENNNNNN I bring them home and attach little round magnets on the back! I have to make an effort to find really strong magnets..all magnets are not created equal..and viola! #magnets #pottery it’s a lot of work. by @chrissykint

I haven’t posted on this account for a while, I took a little break from pottery but am now back in the studio. This is a piece I made in the spring, I threw the piece on the wheel and fired it using an ancient Baltic glazing technique called Obvara Raku. #Obvara #rakupottery #earthydecor #art by @chrissykint
