One year ago today, at the front door of my parent’s healing center where we met — I tied the knot with the man of my dreams.

It didn’t matter that we overnighted $12.99 matching rings from Amazon….
It didn’t matter that you wore a T-shirt and sneakers and I ran by TJMaxx to find something other than the sneakers I’d been living in…
It didn’t matter we handed our iPhones to a friend to take pictures while mom and dad read the vows we’d crafted the night before…

What mattered is that Jesus had weaved us into the most beautiful redemption story we could never have dreamed up on our own.

Every day, I’m the recipient of the blessing of you. A man who loves Jesus with his whole heart and can’t talk about him without tearing up…a man who is faithful, loyal, truthful, fighting for our family, providing, leading, loving me so lavishly I have to pinch myself to remember it’s real. A man who loves our children with the fierceness of a lion, who makes covenants and keeps them, and man who makes me feel safe, adored, cherished.

It is my joy to be your helper.
It is my heart to serve and honor you.
It is my calling to die to myself every day and learn the limitlessness of how big and wide and deep and high the love of Christ can actually be in a marriage.

Thank you for valuing me.
Thank you for seeing me.
Thank you for fighting for me.
Thank you for loving me, baby.

It’s healed me to the core.

But when you submit your desires to the ONE who sees and knows it all, who knows what you need better than you know yourself..

You get on your face. You LISTEN. You submit and obey and believe and declare what HE says…

Heaven comes to earth and HIS kingdom is advanced, not just your own.
