so i lived to see another year! 🎂 i'm so thankful i get to see myself become wiser throughout the years while still being able to experience a big, soft n squishy heart despite all adversities. and im so so so thankful to have such good hearted people all around me along the way. embracing this gloriously messy human experience this upcoming year, and never letting go of my enthusiasm for life. shoutout to me, from me <3 xoxo taken in Dallas, Texas by @christawh

unclench your jaw, relax your shoulders and back, and take a deep breath. yes, the world is on fire right now, but as infuriating as it is, remember that fire can also be good. fire helps us make food, it emits a beautiful light we can admire, and gives us warmth when we need it.

what you decide to do with this fire changes everything.

this fire doesn't have to burn those around you. instead, redirect it to create and inspire, to connect with others, and to feel human again. this warm fire, can change everything in someone else and especially in you. ❤️ taken in Lima, Perú by @christawh

my siblings, we have gained and enjoyed some privileges, but we cannot allow our privilege to be paid for by our silence and then used as a tool for our demise. we must not be silent.

Who knows? we may have been given these places of privileges for just such a time as this. now please understand, i'm not begrudging your places of privileges. If there's one thing that I've learned from doing this work, it is that all of us have places of privilege and all of us all have places of marginality.

the real question is, how do you use your privilege to ensure human dignity and equality for all?

you see, it's not just enough for us to see the fight on a black front or a hispanic front or a queer front or a gender front, we are greater than the sum of our parts. there is really only one and that's the war for freedom, equality and dignity for all people.

I believe that God has made it so that none of us can reach this goal by ourselves. we are divinely independent. I need you, and you need me. we need them, and they certainly need us. and like the harmonic voices of a single choir, we must, each one of us, lend our voices and make a sound that compliments each other. we must raise our voices together. we must. make. some. noise..." by @christawh
