Epic trip to the Middle Grounds...100 miles offshore and fishing overnight is for fishing psychopaths, so we be out there 😂

Grouper bite was on fire the entire 24 hours, but the snapper were surprisingly finicky. Still wrecked the mangrove and vermillion pretty good, along with a ton of other species. Also saw a 12ft tiger shark which is in the reel I posted. I've been on the ocean "more than your average person" for my entire life and this was my first time ever seeing one in the wild.

And yes we are bringing the shark rod next time. by @christianshoda

Had a front row seat watching my brother catch big ones yesterday (I taught him literally everything he knows I swear) and ended up running into the crappies aka specks as Florida men call them. Just staying sharp and exercising survival skills in case society collapses and its every man for themselves 😅

1st time ever actually trying crappie. They lived up to the hype, but given a choice I'll take a mangrove snapper or red grouper. by @christianshoda

2nd place in the Xtreme Series on Panasoffkee today with 17.60...the lake is fishing relatively tough for Pan's standards, but still had fun getting rained on all day. The next month or so should be 🔥 out there, just sayin... by @christianshoda

Ended up finishing 11th in the XBS Championship at the St John's River...certainly happy with a check, but I legit thought we were gonna win a boat 😅. In practice, the fishing was crazy tough everywhere and it was a struggle to just get a bite. Ended up finding a super sneaky pattern and area with quality fish, which we had to ourselves both days of the tournament. Day 1 we had 12.79 and were in 36th, which was surprising since we caught a ton of fish and didn't lose any. Day 2 went a little better with 21.19 and moved up to 11th.

Overall an awesome 1st trip to the St John's...shout out to the XBS crew for running a very professional and organized event. It's usually pure chaos at larger multi-day tournaments and i didn't lose my mind one time during boat check, take off, or weigh in...Will definitely be back next year! 🤘 by @christianshoda

1st place today in the Florida Xtreme Series on Lake Panasoffkee with 20.40!!!

Next one is the 2-day championship at the St John's River...neither of us have fished it before, but 1st place will win a new boat so I guess it's time to start looking at maps! 😅 by @christianshoda

Spent the majority of the time dodging storms, but eventually ran into the gags yesterday...big bull reds are also biting (pic from last week) in the same areas. by @christianshoda

The fishing is pretty tough, but had fun on Lake Rousseau in the West Hernando open tournament...ended up winning with 20-14!!! by @christianshoda
