if you’re a new generation artist, please apply the OAC’s Career Catalyst Grant!!

now that i have time to settle down, i want to express my gratitude!!

i’ve been able to work on so many projects this year, and im grateful to have worked with so many talented directors, designers and producers.

what does this have to do with the Ontario Arts Council?? well, i have them to thank for the equipment that has brought my sound from amateur to professional. how? they paid for me to upgrade my studio:
from me just wearing headphones to mix music,
to having studio monitors,
from recording vocals under a blanket,
to having acoustic treatment in my room. from recording field recordings on my phone,
to having an actual field recorder, i use my H6 on EVERY project in some way shape or form

if you’re a new artist, and the cost of equipment is overwhelming, PLEASE apply for this grant, the Ontario Arts Council WANTS you to make art

if you need help when applications open up in december, feel free to reach out, i want all of my friends to have the freedom to make art and to have all the tools they need to be successful!

i don’t mean to shame anyone for feeling joy because of this verdict, please feel joy, but know that this joy shouldn’t have been made to exist in the first place. everyday could be a celebration of the state would hold their own accountable. if police unions weren’t so powerful. if black lives weren’t forced to be martyrs. celebrate and don’t move on.
