I’m honored to share that I’ve been invited to join the Recording Academy’s 2026 New Member Class.

Becoming a member means joining a community of music’s creators and professionals who are helping advance the Academy’s mission to serve, support, and uplift the music community.

As a member, I’m excited to use my voice to help define and celebrate musical excellence, contribute to the Grammy Awards process, advocate for creators’ rights, and stand up for the people who make and shape music around the world.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of a membership body that reflects the many voices, genres, disciplines, backgrounds, and perspectives that make music a global language.

I’m truly at a loss for words—this moment feels surreal. Christopher L. Ervin & Abraham’s Descendants have officially been nominated for a Stellar Award in Category #20: Traditional Choir of the Year, alongside some of my absolute favorite choirs…. including [Dr. Ricky Dillard& New G]🫶🏾🫶🏾

A heartfelt thank you to all my SAGMA colleagues and friends for your support. Although I’ve had the honor of participating in the show with my mentor, Dr. Dillard, I’m beyond excited to now share this experience with my own choir.

🎼 🎤30 YEARS. 🤯🙌🏾

This year marks 30 years of serving in music ministry, and it all started when I became the choir director at my home church… at just 8 years old.

Yeah… do the math. 😮‍💨🥴

What began as something small has grown into a lifetime of directing choirs, developing leaders, working in the gospel music industry, and helping ministries discover excellence without losing authenticity.

Now it’s time to pour it back.
