A hand sewn gown installation made from jute, hair, and wire designed by CHR!STOPHER QUARTERMAN ★

Inspired by the social, workforce, and generational oppression of braided hair, this work weaves natural fibers with synthetics to represent a juxtaposition of interconnectedness. It is a celebration of Native and diasporic heritage, holding on to valuable lost and found pieces that make up who and what we have come from. It stands in the light of truth, no matter what environment we may find ourselves in.
