About last Saturday…
I almost didn’t go! And then I DID! Back to my old stomping grounds in San Diego.

My 40th HS Reunion! I’m so so sooo glad I went! Before my GF Nicole and I went to the reunion, we took a tour of that crazy little town to relive our stories. We took photos of our JR. High, our homes, our town which is unrecognizable.

When we got to the Reunion it was pure love and JOY! The hugs, the catching up and where we are now.

The people I chatted with were so generous with their kindness. I was a bit startled.

And there was a theme that kept circulating: Christy you were always so creative, are you doing fashion, your poetry was so good, you look the same, did you move to NYC…

When I went back home I read all of the comments in my Year Book. I read and read and then I just… cried.

As someone who was kind of popular, a good student, active with clubs, lots of friends, etc.

I NEVER thought I was good enough. No one knew that I was depressed at home. HS was my saving grace. The love, the joy, the laughter, the FREE to BE ME! The BEST teachers you could imagine. Within those 4 years I blossomed. I was madly invested in art and used every moment that I had to DO MY ART. I was destined to be so successful! And yet…

As much as I was invested in a very clear future… I was stopped. I went to FIDM and FIT, excelled, so passionate to do the THINGS!

But I gave my power over and over again to “others”. The men I dated were jealous, sabotaged my dreams, tangled my heart over and over again… and I ALLOWED IT. I stayed TOO long in relationships that did NOT serve me.

So here I AM.
58. Single. My kids live elsewhere. Me with my HS YEAR BOOKS and the kindness of my friends who ALWAYS knew who I WAS all along…

A clean slate. No one to pull me down. Just me with a bag of brushes and paints and a dream to catch up…❤️

I made it to my 40th HS Reunion and it was a blast! Sharing stories of the past and where we are now❤️ We really had an exceptional HS experience and I have so much more to share but for now ? Just holding a space in my heart for my younger self and those I loved and loved me💋 @nicolethomas7413 thanks for taking me around our old hoods! Xoxo by @christyfunk

Day 1 of a 21 day show UP.
My tree. My fruit.
Rumi starts school Thursday. Tuesday and Wednesday is for socializing and getting to know the campus.
He had a bunch of clothes he didn’t want so I’m off to the Goodwill.

I finished my emergency pack
I bounced on my rebounder
I asked my dad about questions and his salaries through out the years. I found a them.

I took a nap and ate Ecuadorian Chocolate infused with coffee. It buzzzzed me
