My name is Christina Lladó and I am an education, mentor and neurodiversity advocate who is passionate about service education and advocacy. As a former school owner for 20 years and consult consultant for an additional 10 as well as personal experience through my family’s journey, I believe that inclusion cannot end at the school door. Creating a truly inclusive environment for people to thrive throughout the community is crucial when it affects more than 90% of our population. I’m so grateful for every day I get to have you in my life and for all the beautiful qualities you’ve instilled in me - your integrity, strength, wisdom, kindness, and the importance of always doing the right thing.

Women who support one another thrive. I was blessed to have the opportunity to hear Rafael A. Villalobos @miamisupt speak on Tuesday, and as a parent of a neurodivergent child, and having worked with thousands of schools, I feel especially grateful for his appointment as the new Superintendent of Miami-Dade County Public Schools. His extensive background in Exceptional Student Education, together with his personal experience growing up with a brother who was blind and autistic, gives him a perspective that I believe will be incredibly valuable as he leads our district. I’m confident his understanding of ESE will help bring greater focus to the needs of these students and their families.

Having worked in education for many years and experienced our public schools firsthand as a parent, I’ve seen the dedication of so many incredible administrators and educators, while also seeing the challenges schools face in fully supporting students with autism, ADHD, and other learning differences. I believe that with the right resources, support, and structures, more of our children can thrive in their public schools and communities. Wishing Superintendent Villalobos tremendous success in this new chapter and in the important work ahead. #miamischools by @christyllado
