I met @acawley 13 years ago at a gay bar called Central. It was my first time out at a gay bar. He was so sweet. We exchanged numbers. I was not out yet and totally nervous. When I finally got the courage to go back out a few weeks later, I hit up Andre - he was on a bus back from NYC after a Kylie Minogue show - and he rallied and met me out that night. Crazy to think what would have happened if he decided to stay in but I’m so glad we met. Here’s to 13 years! Hope everyone is doing well ❤️ by @chrisuhlmd

Today I’m celebrating ONE YEAR of SOBRIETY!I often hear “I wish I could do it” and I say you totally can! If you’ve ever thought about cutting back or quitting – you probably should. There doesn’t have to be a rock bottom and everyone’s sober journey looks different. If you want or need help it’s available. I’ve never felt better. I feel grateful and fortunate. Sober life is best for me! by @chrisuhlmd

Highlights from 2023… I got sober, started a new job (back in local gov’t!), opened for Cupcakke 3 times, threw a Baltimore Pride party with Aquaria and sent $2,500 to FreeState Justice, threw two parties in DC with Mel 4Ever & Tommie Sunshine, co-chaired Everyman Theatre’s Gala with Ultra & E. Faye, threw a tea dance and raised money for the Rawlings Conservatory, DJ’d WTMD’s First Thursday, bought a bicycle and started riding, and I attended a dinner party that made it in Bon Appétit magazine (thanks Lane & Charisse). I’m feeling grateful for my life – my friends and family and these incredible opportunities. This year also came with major losses and a few setbacks. But each day is a new day. I’m excited for the new year. Here’s to more dinner parties, learning, dancing, and deeper connections in 2024! xx Chris by @chrisuhlmd

I’m proud to serve as co-chair of the completely reimagined Everyman Theatre gala – A Night For Baltimore on Saturday Sept 30! This year's gala is a celebration of theatre in Baltimore and our community. Gala guests will enjoy a special intimate production featuring a one hour live performance by E. Faye Butler and Her Band, followed by an afterparty in Everyman’s black box theatre with Baltimore's own, Ultra Naté. Tickets are $125 and include food and open bar. Proceeds from this event will raise critical funds to support Everyman's Education & Community Partnership programs, and help keep world-class theatre accessible and inclusive in Baltimore.
