Aashish Jaiswal and I met 10 minutes before this. December 2025, Varanasi, India by @chrisvotek

These are the magical moments of Banff Centre. Last week, participant @chrisvotek—part of our Soundweavings program in our Music department—was playing his cello outside as a couple of curious elk stopped by to enjoy the performance.

A beautiful evening in Houston with a thoughtfully curated set by @adityaprakashmusic bringing the timeless poetry of Kabir to life through music

Music is it’s at its best when everyone believes the whole can be greater than the sum of its parts. This group truly embodied that spirit 🙌🏽

Swipe through for some clips from the concert. we hope you enjoy them! by @chrisvotek

A tremendous week in Los Angeles with dear friends and family, and collaborating with this group of world class artists

The concert for the Angel City Jazz with Bridge to Everywhere was incredible, the orchestra was humming as Derrick brought us to the great valley of music

I am in awe of the musicianship, mission, and strength of this ensemble and organization. I was surrounded by giants

What an honor to collaborate with B2E, what a gift for them to perform my concerto, what a week

Thank you Bridge to Everywhere, my heart and my ears are still swimming

Thank you Rocco Somazzi and team for curating this iconic festival of creative and daring music. Thank you Paul Bennun for being a passionate and grounded host. You are all patron saints of art and music. by @chrisvotek

I had an inspiring musical journey playing golden era Egyptian music with an incredible ensemble led by @firaszreik supporting the legendary singer @rihamabdelhakim . Today is the day after the gig and I am constantly singing the songs even though I don’t speak a word or Arabic . This repertoire is some of the best music on earth and I am honored and grateful to have a window into its depth and beauty 🌟

Last week at the Global Music Workshop was filled with music and friendship, a whole week of sharing music and spending time with musicians from different cultures and musical backgrounds.

“Hoy Nazan,” a song by the legendary Onnik Dinkjian, was taught to us by Ara Dinkjian during the Armenian jam session at the workshop, and from that day on, it found a very special place in my heart.

I asked Chris to play this beautiful song with me as a tribute to GMW 2026, all the incredible friends we made there, and the beautiful memories we created together.

P.s: My dear Armenian friends, please forgive me for any mistakes in my Armenian pronunciation :)))
