Straight out of camera, I found the backrooms in real life. So thankful I brought our tiny Canon G7X to shoot with. Always carry a camera with you, because you never know what you’ll find.

What’s even more interesting is the fact that this no-clip was found in an old funeral home. We were never meant to see it, the rest of the home looked completely different. Should have seen my face when I opened the door to the attic, only to be met by the unmistakable yellow saturation of what can only be described as a room stuck in purgatory.

Digital ownership & consumer rights are more important than ever before. The path companies continue to tread is one of taking advantage of our reliance on convenience by maintaining predatory subscription models. It’s an endless cycle of draining us of wealth...

The issue isn’t the model itself; it’s the severe lack of options. Much of the time, it’s their way, or no way at all (unless you sail the high seas). They have full control over how we interact with their products, which, most of the time, are merely licenses that we’re renting. There needs to be a shift in the way we see digital products...

Our digital purchases must be protected. We cannot allow companies to strip us of our purchases simply because their licenses expire. Protections must be put into place.
We deserve a future where technology isn’t perceived as this ever-growing threat to consumers. We deserve a future where technology retains its core purpose while becoming ethically balanced, convenient, & human-first.

Wanted to share some VFX/Analog glitching sequences that I worked on for “Waking Purgatory”, a short film directed by @jayanthonyolson 🎬

Many people don’t know that I offer this service, and I wanted to bring some attention to it because it’s a passion of mine. I use circuit bent tools and CRT TV’s from the 80’s, 90’s & 00’s to distort images, which I then re-capture using my mirrorless camera.

You may find the short film on Jay’s Youtube channel, it’s chalk full of atmosphere and tension. The setting itself is a character. If you’re into liminal/backrooms content, this is right up your alley.

Synopsis:

A man wakes up in an abandoned office complex and begins to search for a way out, and discovers clues as to why he’s there.
