Well, for those who don't know me, my name is Charles, a perpetual learner, born and raised in the Amazon, currently residing in São Paulo, living off the art of creating these sound sculptures..
Today is a very special day for those who love this instrument.
Just dropping by to mark International Handpan Day.
I can only express my gratitude for this instrument that has been a game-changer in my life.
It arrived with purpose, and I believe this is my life's mission: to spread these pan worldwide, bringing healing through sound, vibration, and music.
Thank you all for your support; without you, none of this would be possible.
Happy handpan day!!

Thank you @chronoshandpan 🛸 ✨ I am beyond pleased with the sound feel and obvious love poured into this incredible instrument. After waiting 2 years to acquire the beautiful D Aegean scale I feel as though a part of my soul has always known this scale. It’s mysterious, enticing, and deeply emotional. Just like me 😉 New YouTube Handpan Meditations coming soon! #handpan #handpanmusic #calmingmusic #chronoshandpan by @chronoshandpan

Luna Marina was born from a cluster of random events.

At first, I was aiming to make an A minor. The top shell was already done, but when I went to tune the bottom, that F3 just wouldn’t sit right.
Because of the shell’s weight, the mold I used turned out to be a bit too small, so it ended up landing on an F#.
Well, I threw it into a virtual player to see how the change felt and test the difference—and honestly, I ended up loving it way more than the original idea.
That half-step up on the F brings such a nice brightness and lightness to the scale.
The day I finally glued this instrument together happened to be during the last lunar eclipse.
To a lot of people, that’s no big deal, but these alignments mean a lot to me, and having that energy baked into the creation process feels super special.

It’s a Dorian mode, though I couldn’t find anything online built with this specific layout.
(If someone has actually made one like this, please forgive me and drop a comment!).
So, with this mix of factors—the “bathe” of the blood moon and the fluid vibe that F# brings—the name Luna Marina came to life while Stamato and I were chatting about the scale.
In this video, played beautifully by Fábio, you can hear just how fluid and deep this scale can be. It’s super complete, stretching all the way from A2 to C6.

We highly recommend using headphones to get the full experience.
Hope you guys enjoy it—it was made with a whole lot of love!
