Since still no website, I thought to share here a project from 2021 of identity for Kama Sokolnicka's @kamasokolnicka exhibition "Blask" / "Glare" curated by Joanna Kobyłt @kobi.san at MWW Muzeum Współczesne Wrocław @muzeum_wspolczesne

Unfortunately I don't remember who made those photos
The stripes on first slide come from my old scanner, there were not in print
The project was a lot of fun!

About the exhibition (text by Joanna Kobyłt):

“Let there be light!” These are the first words spoken by the Old Testament Creator, as recorded in the Book of Genesis, according to which the Earth was initially formless and desolate, while darkness stretched over the vast expanse of waters. These words separated light from darkness and day from night, and their inscription in the Pentateuch became the first divine message to humanity." by @chrustchrustchrust

Since still no website, I thought to share here a project from 2022 of identity for Kama Sokolnicka @kamasokolnicka and Emanuel Geisser @emanuel.geisser „As Far As I Can See” curated by Joanna Kobyłt @kobi.san. Exhibition within the framework of Nowe Horyzonty @mff_nowehoryzonty, organized by BWA Wrocław Galerie Sztuki Współczesnej @bwawroclaw. Still really fond of this project – it was lots of fun to develop.

The reference point (color and typography) was a screen from Jonas Mekas’ film board as the exhibition was dedicated to him.

The identity got developed with Kama Sokolnicka and Emanuel Geisser.
The collage is by Emanuel Geisser.
Photos by Alicja Kielan

About the exhibition: „The artistic duo Emanuel Geisser and Kama Sokolnicka celebrate the hundredth anniversary of the Lithuanian-born artist’s birth with an exhibition about travel, movement, light and dreams which are to remain unfulfilled.
In a 2019 interview, asked by Hans Ulrich Obrist about projects he did not complete, Jonas Mekas answered: When I turn 100, I want to go to the Himalayas, to Tibet. We’ll talk about it in 2023, when I’m back. If he was still alive, he would be celebrating his hundredth birthday this year, and probably making the trip he dreamt about. But the voyage he planned remained an idea, fantasy of a potential future which may give meaning to the present moment. Perhaps for Mekas the world’s highest peaks were always just a vision belonging to the realm of unfulfilled dreams which pushed the artist towards continuing development, further mental and artistic journeys.” by @chrustchrustchrust

Since still no website, I thought to share here a project from 2021 of identity for „Odkrywki” and booklet „Odkrywki: Kropla wiedzy o plenerze Ziemia Zgorzelecka 1971–2021” organized by MWW Muzeum Współczesne Wrocław. @muzeum_wspolczesne

Project curated by Anna Krukowska and Małgorzata Rzerzycha-Myśliwy

The starting point for the creation of the Odkrywki programme was the 50th anniversary, in 2021: the Zgorzelec Land Plein-Air 1971. The collection of the Wrocław Contemporary Museum contains extensive photographic documentation of the event, including individual works created by the participating artists, photographed by Natalia Lach-Lachowicz.

The original event, held in 1971 under the title “Science and Art in the Process of Protecting the Natural Environment of Man,” took place in Opolno-Zdrój, in the immediate vicinity of the Turów Lignite Mine and Power Plant. It was the first plein-air art event in the history of Polish art devoted entirely to ecology and to the relationship between humans and a natural environment degraded by industry.

The booklet A Drop of Knowledge... provides a comprehensive account of these events, combining a historical perspective with a reflection on the contemporary climate crisis. The programme was accompanied by summer artist residencies and academic conferences. by @chrustchrustchrust

"From Where You Stand" is a story about shifting perspective. The exhibition guides visitors through everyday spaces and seemingly ordinary situations, drawing attention to gestures, light, and moments that usually go unnoticed. It is a story about looking—attentively, sensitively, and with openness toward others and their stories—set within a modernist interior from the 1960s, once a place filled with meetings and conversations.

The exhibition brings together works by artists whose practices emerge from ordinary relationships with space. Presented across two venues of the Gdańsk City Gallery (GCSW) (Piwna 27/29 and Szeroka 37), it subtly intertwines the history of the former modernist Marysieńka Café with contemporary art. The exhibition reflects on the memory of place, rootedness, and the individual perspectives of the participating artists.

As part of the exhibition, KinoPort (5 Strajku Dokerów Street) will host free weekly screenings of The Universal Man(Polish: Człowiek do wszystkiego), directed by Wilhelm and Anka Sasnal.

Throughout July, visitors to the exhibition will be able to browse freshly printed newspapers featuring essays and conversations by, among others, Anna Batko, Franciszek Smoręda, Andżelika Kliś, Emilia Konwerska, and Klaudiusz Grabowski.
