After some intense procrastination and artist block, I have finally completed my newest piece. It had actually been 99% complete for almost a month but for some reason I couldn’t get myself to paint the finishing touches. I’ll be sharing the full piece and some BTS within the coming days but for now I just wanted to share a final sneak peak as I soak it all in.

This past Saturday, I was blessed with the opportunity to participate in my first art show at @arlingtontxlib 3rd Annual Artist Reception. It was inspiring to see so many beautiful pieces from sculptures, photography, paintings to drawings and be amongst so many amazing local black artists. It was truly a memorable evening.

This was a huge milestone for me as I tend to shy away from sharing my art but I’m grateful @krislbritton pushed me out of my comfort zone and encouraged me to sign up. Something that started out as daunting ended up being so uplifting and I truly appreciate all the support and love I received.

With that being said, I decided to get out of my comfort zone once again and opened my storefront, linked in my bio, and have prints available for purchase. This is only the beginning of my journey ❤️ by @chrystalized.art

Create with me: Home Is Where The Heart Is, ep. 3. In this final part, I will be showing you how I glued the fabric to the canvas and painted the heart. For this piece, I used mod podge, satin fabric and acrylic paint.
