OHIO Eastern nursing student Gavin Paisley was recently nominated for a DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing Students. 👏 🩺

Paisley was also selected to participate in the WVU Medicine Aspiring Nurse Program at Wheeling Hospital. Both recognitions reflect his ongoing commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

“Patient-centered care to me means being compassionate and understanding that we all have different walks in life. Taking time to connect with your patients and making sure that they are seen and heard ultimately betters their care.” 💚

The OHIO School of Nursing is partnering with the American Nurses Association of Ohio to host the 2026 Jeri Milstead Policy Symposium on Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Dublin Integrated Education Center. 🧑‍⚕️

This year's symposium, titled “Bending the Arc: Disrupting Public Health Disparities,” is bringing together nurses, leaders, policymakers and healthcare experts and will be centered on school health nursing, mental and behavioral health nursing, immigrant health nursing and public health nursing.
