NEW ✨ on exclusive on @traxsource #WeekendWeapons : “Soul Food” is the 2nd single from Choosy Lover’s upcoming Soul Clap Records album, “Bang My Line” due this early fall 2024.

It’s an uptempo Nu-disco funk jam that is an ode to how the group cooks up their unique flavor of music. When vocalist DCB Pablito was asked how he crafts his lyrical hooks, he answered, “ain’t no cookbook recipe for this shit right here, this is soul food” and the track was born. This is the anthem for the summer cookout referencing all your soul food favorites “Mac N Cheese, Collard Greens, Rice and Peas”.

Choosy Lover’s funk here is supreme with Carter Yasutake (Midnight Magic) tasty horn lines that will have you thinking The J.B.’s are back. Guitarist Jaleel Bunton’s spicy guitars are in the mix and as are the flavorful licks of keyboardist Morgan WIley (formerly of Midnight Magic and Adi Oasis, contributor to FSQ, and currently working with Natasha Diggs). Choosy Lover performs Saturday, July 6th at New York City’s “Baby’s All Right” with Johnny Burgos + links to the full DJ package and tickets to the show are in our bio
