CONFENTE Pro-Strada, circa 1978.

To honor the frame custom made for me by Mario I stripped the anodizing off all the parts, then polished some of the parts and anodized black some of the other parts like the headset, brake levers, stem, front derailleur arms, hubs and seat post parts plus some fasteners.

I also substituted every alloy and titanium part/fastener that was available back then in the late ‘70s.

Mario’s signature paint scheme; his absolute favorite.

Eddy in the paint shop. This is the logotype I designed for Eddy Merckx in the mid 1980’s shorty after he started his own company. Used in several variations for the next 20 years that ended when he sold his business.

If ever there was a bike that actually could be considered Art it must be this track bike, an R. Brian Baylis Pista created in the style of the Art Deco movement that occurred during the 1920s and ‘30s. The bike was made by Brian (1953-2016) at the end of 2013. Brian was also a very talented drummer and custom knife maker, a true artiste.
