The last of the college boys

If you don’t know about Thomas and about his lore at @dst_houston North let me explain. This dude walked in 3 years ago into Bricks Fall Velo Group at around 160ish pounds, and after the Fall program was over it was like Thomas had ate the previous Thomas gaining over 20 pounds and completely changing his body comp 😂🤣! Thomas is still the quiet kid that goes about his business but good lord does this guy lock in to move heavy objects. To this day I haven’t seen a kid do the things he does in the weight room and ask if he can go heavier 😂🔥

Mr. McNew has been one of my favorite kids to train these past 5 years. Adam has always brought energy and has outrageous ball knowledge when it comes to quoting movies and shows 😂😂 I can always rely on him to bring in new music to gym and bring his PHD in Vibes 🔥🤣

Captain of the home schoolers, THE Jack Coleman. I’ve worked with Jack Jack for 5 years, in San Antonio I covered for a few weeks and was told we had a kid driving from and hour and half away to come train and remember thinking that some kids and some families want it more than others and respectfully that’s what it takes. Jack is always looking to do more and always chirping to make sure the gym isn’t f****** around hahah 🤣 And without a doubt, every time I turn on any kind of Divorce Dad Rock, Jack Jack WILL be thought of 😂🔥

Big Bro, Lil Bro

The LIFE of the 1 o’clock group, plain and simple. Every summer I’ve worked at North these boys have been a staple in the afternoon HOT AS HELL group 😂! These boys have been leaders to younger athletes in these groups and have been their best supporters and sh*t talkers 🔥🤣! I can always rely on these two to be gung-ho when it comes to being competitive with each other and to the athletes in their groups, these two HATE to lose and that trait carry’s weight. One of my favorite human beings I’ve ever trained,

DOUGIE is the man, this kid has brought the laughs and carried the energy on his back for his high school career here and we’re excited to send him off to college 😭🔥! To this day, dry scooping pre workout is still hard to watch but damn it, he’s getting better 😂. Thank you Doug for being who you are and staying committed and we’re super proud of you kid

10 Years later,

Grayson goes by many names in the gym G, G-Baby (@trey_supak9 ), lil G (back when he wasn’t deadlifting 500lbs), Allballs, and our new favorite White Chocolate 😂. I’ve only had the privilege of training G for 5 years for my entire tenure at North but G has been a staple in the gym for many offseason’s. He would come in and tell us one thing he learned from school and talk our ears off until he eventually worked his way to talking someone else’s ears off ( @jasonmcmack )😂🤣. We had used G as a demo/example for almost all our exercises in our @fytt.io catalogs back when he was lil G 😂. G had written an essay for one of our former coaches when he was in the youth group about @ronniecoleman8 that we still have framed up in the office hahah! He would chop it up with our pro group as if he was one himself back when he was in middle school during covid and I remember that being hilarious because he was talking smack to first rounders and the first rounders would be talking smack back 😂. The life lessons we got to go through at north were hilarious, we made his first email account so that he could make a @fytt.io account and we both got in trouble 🤣, taking creatine for the first time and him thinking he was jacked the next day, then my personal favorite is a story about after his first assessment I met his parents and I said that his mom has jacked arms and G went home and said that I called her fat 🤣🤣. G not understanding that jacked was a good thing 🤣😂. I’m still coach string bean don’t worry lmao 😂. We also held court by the whiteboard one day for more than 2 hours going over “life situations” 🤣 that @coltinspiess and @ashtonlarson11 helped write “Pros & Cons” 🤣🤣🤣!

This past summer has been his best summer yet, he packed on muscle and developed speed we didn’t know he had hahah!

MAYO 🔥

Alex is one of the best kids I’ve had the privilege of working with over the past 4 years. He’s respectful, he’s honest, and he’s gonna be a good person to have on your team if you’re lucky enough. Alex is a grinder and this kid works his ass off with the amount of time he spent at the facility, sprinting/lifting/hitting/throwing. But with all that hard work he also kept it light hearted and became a great mentor for younger athletes seeing his progress and always being a great teammate. (And side note, he’s still the only young man I’d let date my daughter 🤣🤣🤣)

HAEF 🔥

Haef still has one of the best overall gains I’ve had at @dst_houston over his high school career. Haef showed up 5 days a week, asked questions, and became obsessed with how he can be the best possible version of himself. Along side Brick, he packed on even more muscle and started tacking on the MPH’s to his arsenal! One of favorite memories of Haef is back in 2022 we were watching the @astros play the @mariners and Haef had to have had millions of dollars on the game 😂 because this man was livid but Yordan hit a walk off homer into space and I remember seeing Haef throw the bands he had to the ceiling 🤣🤣🤣. It’s been fun watching him grow up and we’re proud as hell of him and everything he’s accomplished.
