I want to officially post that I've moved studios at the Screw Factory. The new space is much larger and I'll be open for the October Open House if you want to drop in before the holidays.
I'm only two doors down the hall, on the same floor. I was in the old unit for four years! So, I'm pretty stoked to head into a new season of playing with dirt and working in this space full-time next year.
None of this would be possible without all the support I have had along the way from all of you. Every mug, bowl, and plate is a little piece of this crazy journey. I'm grateful to all the folks that have been a part of it.

Scroll to see some silly moments during the big transfer and if you got any suggestions on how to get dried clay off of drywall, im gonna need help next time lol taken in Screw Factory Artists Lofts by @chuckstuff.art

I've been making these butter dishes for a while, but there's zero documentation of them. They don't last long during market season.
These guys have so many little nuances that making larger batches takes up a whole afternoon. But i like the side rails and the little feet underneath as design elements. You can flip the whole lid upside down this way, and the feet help the tray from warping during the drying process. Its worth the extra effort imo

Im bringing a few of these to Lakewood Arts Fest on Saturday! My booth number is 82. The event runs from 10-6pm, come shop, or hangout and see what weird odds and ends ive been cooking up.

Hey, friends! If you're wondering what ive been up to, i am calculating down to the hour on what can get glazed and fired off for the Kent Art and Wine festival on Saturday. 😆🫠
We are long overdue for some updates, But i dont wanna spoil any of the good stuff just yet! So please bear with me. The last round of glazed work had a multitude of pieces with this white to black layering that im digging. Kinda leaning towards doing some of these triangle vessels with the same treatment.

✨
Next set of shows are the last weekend in June! And afterwards, i dont have another until Lakewood Arts Fest. If you're craving a new Chuck for your collection, and our schedules dont line up, hmu! ✨ taken in Screw Factory Artists Lofts by @chuckstuff.art

Couldn't be happier with my first outdoor market of the 2026 season. Very cool to be a part of the action down in the Short North Arts District for Hops on High this year.

Huuuuge thank you to the volunteers and customers supporting this dusty, Cleveland Potter. I met alot of new folks today, and i cannot do this without you. Thanks guys 🙏

Settling back in with an @ohiopieco pizza and planning to sleep like a baby tonight. Everyone needs a little reward after working a long weekend. Good night, till next time

Trying to document some larger work from the end of last year. This is the largest format tray ive ever built (restricted by the widest kiln available). It is 23" from handle to handle and 7" wide. For serving everything all at once 😂
Swipe to travel along the tray >>>>

Spring Art Market Spotlight: Chuck Strasshofer III of Chuck Stuff LLC

Chuck Strasshofer III of Chuck Stuff LLC is a resident artist working in pottery and ceramics. His current body of work is defined by precisely thrown or built objects coated with various satin matte glazes. Using pouring techniques to veil the pieces, the glaze highlights the forms and offers a degree of contrast organically. He describes the work as simple and elegant, with a style that has become recognizable in the market circuit.

What He’ll Be Selling at the Show:
At the Spring Art Market, he will be offering his ever-expanding collection of functional tableware and decorative ceramic objects. He hopes to incorporate new shapes this year, including more tray sizes for decoration, storage, and display, and possibly spoon rests. There will also be light, spring glaze colors showcased this season.

^ Another side quest during the off-season. Converting a manual kiln with a kiln sitter to a digital controller with a electrical-mechanical relay. Ive done a few of these now for other potters and myself. No, its not a skillset that i would've been able to believe that I would develop as a ceramic artist. Lol
But it isnt too difficult! And it looks incredibly impressive once its done. Folks have been elbowing me to get into doing kiln work (changing out heating elements, thermocouples, and typical maintenance tasks) as a steady job. If you're working at a studio and they frequently have kiln problems, you can send them my way.
If i can get @ginadesantisceramics L&L to 300 firings on one set of elements, I can get your kilns to tip top shape too 💪 taken in Screw Factory Artists Lofts by @chuckstuff.art

I wont be able to throw for myself for another week or two and i am getting such an itch. There's been more than a few side projects happening that are unrelated to the creation of new stuff.
Alot of plotting and planning for 2026. This year will involve balancing new responsibilities. With my tendency to overbook myself, I have been trying to set more realistic expectations for the amount of shows to book this season.

I have a few pending commissions to get to, and ill hopefully squeeze in some production for the spring/early summer. Tell me stuff youre looking forward to this year, because it already feels like springtime haha by @chuckstuff.art

Born in Mayfield Heights and now a Cleveland resident, Chuck Strasshofer has built a steady creative life rooted in making and community. It was great meeting him at the Screw Factory, where he has worked for the past four years, and great to get a photo of him with a large, beautiful piece he made. Having daily access to space, tools, and other artists has helped sharpen his process and focus, reinforcing a practice built on patience, repetition, and thoughtful construction.

He studied ceramics at Tri C East, where he developed a strong foundation in clay, firing, and surface. That training continues to influence his approach as his work has expanded beyond traditional forms. His practice centers on material honesty, function, and the quiet character that comes from hand-built objects, with each piece showing clear evidence of touch and care. "Whats up, Chuck?" You may be asking yourself.
I'm writing you all from a market in Toledo @handmadetoledo .
Next weekend I'll be at the ChristmasFair at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus
After Thanksgiving, the Screw Factory has their small business Saturday, but I'll be hanging with the @clebazaar at the 5th Street arcades downtown. I've been down there for a few years now; and it's the closest I'll get to feeling the holiday spirit as folks rush down with their families for the tree lighting. November is gonna be pretty busy! That's exciting

This is one of the new cappuccino mugs. I like the drippy overlap on this one in particular. I'll keep trying to post where I'll be, if you guys see anything you like or want to check in on what I still got in stock; hmu

Cheers, see y'all again soon
