I’ve done a lot of traveling lately. This week: Portland, OR.

And there’s one thing I’ve learned from selling in the home that also translates to public speaking:

Understand the room before trying to control it.

It's hard to close a $25,000 deal when you haven't even noticed that the homeowner just got home from work, their kids are running around, or their dog got into the trash for the 14th time.

This is just one of the ways you could be making the wrong first impression in the home.
