Lead Play Nurse at the Children’s Heart Unit and Chuf Trustee, Joanne Moore, shares how Chuf funds bespoke jewellery created from the fingerprints of Heart Heroes who sadly don’t make it home from hospital. ❤️

For 20 years, the Clown Doctors have been working alongside Chuf with a simple goal in mind: spread joy ❤️

Each week they visit the ward at the Freeman Hospital to bring smiles and spark happiness for Heart Heroes and their families. ✨🫧

They are committed to paying close attention to the individual needs of each child, being there as someone to laugh and have fun with or offering moments of quiet reassurance and recognition - allowing Heart Heroes to guide them with whatever they need from an interaction.

This short film introduces you to two of the marvellous Clown Doctors who have been a part of this programme since its beginning, to see why it means so much to them. 😊

This August, please join us as Heart Families come together for a special afternoon of remembrance, reflection and connection.

Wave of Love invites families to place flowers and personal messages onto a heart sculpture before it is carried out to sea, creating a beautiful shared moment to honour loved ones gone too soon 🕊️

A huge thank you to our incredible Great North Swim team who took on the challenge in June in support of Chuf. ❤️

Special thanks to Freeman nurses Amanda Evermore, Faye Pugh, Rachael McCue and Emily Ellison, who completed the swim for the third year running, showing incredible determination and commitment to supporting heart families.

Also, a big thank you to Rob Brooks from @jtdove_buildingmaterials , who returned for a second consecutive year, once again stepping up to support Chuf through this fantastic challenge.

We'd also like to thank @hughzhang89 and @suwei88, who took on the swim alongside Team Chuf, with their dog Mimi cheering them on from the sidelines. ❤️

Reflecting on the experience, Haozheng said:

"Thank you again to everyone at Team chuf for your support throughout this journey. Taking part in the Great North Swim for Chuf was a truly meaningful experience, and we are both grateful to have been involved." 🫶✨

We're so lucky to have such incredible people taking on challenges to support Chuf, and today we're celebrating some amazing fundraisers. 🫶❤️

Hannah Pell completed her very first marathon at the Swaledale Marathon in honour of her niece, Tilly. Crossing the finish line in an incredible 6 hours and 20 minutes, Hannah has raised more than £1,000 for Chuf, an amazing achievement for her first marathon! After everything Tilly has overcome, including multiple open-heart surgeries and a heart transplant earlier this year, Hannah wanted to give something back to the charity that has been there for their family.

Meanwhile, Daniel Callaghan has been taking on challenge after challenge throughout the year. From the Manchester Marathon to the Rat Race Ultra Marathon, he's already raised more than £1,000 in support of our Heart Heroes, with the Great North Run still to come. Daniel has even had a special running vest designed to remind him why he's taking on these incredible challenges and of course, #TeamChuf even made it onto the vest!

A huge well done to Prudhoe Detachment and colleagues from Y Company, Northumbria Army Cadet Force, who completed an incredible 12-hour CPR Challenge, raising more than £1,100 for Chuf. The challenge was organised by Simon Newbold, a long-standing supporter of Chuf whose family received support from the charity while a loved one underwent a life-saving heart transplant. Inspired by their own experience, Simon chose Chuf as this year's charity, bringing together cadets, colleagues and the local community for an incredible day of fundraising.
Throughout the challenge, cadets took turns performing continuous CPR while helping members of the public learn this vital life-saving skill.

There's no one way to support Chuf. Whether you lace up your running shoes, taking on a community challenge, organising a fundraiser or doing something completely unique, every act of support helps us be there for children with heart conditions and their families.

Thank you to Hannah, Daniel, Simon, Prudhoe Detachment, Y Company and everyone who continues to be part of #TeamChuf. We couldn't do it without you.

Born at just 29 weeks and weighing only 3lb, Theo was diagnosed with a complex congenital heart condition before he was even born - a huge thing for such a little person to face. ❤️

After months in hospital, emergency surgery and multiple life-saving procedures, he finally got to go home.

Throughout it all, Chuf helped Theo's family stay close when they needed to be with him the most.

Theo's Mam, Yasmin, said: "We are truly grateful for all the help we received. Because of Chuf, we were able to stay close to our son throughout his time in hospital."

Stories like Theo's are a reminder of why Chuf's support matters so much to heart families every single day. 🫶✨

🎡❤️ Bringing the fun to our Heart Heroes! ❤️🎡

For Heart Heroes in hospital who are unable to join us for our annual Chuf Toddle & Family Fun Day at @closehousegolf, each year we bring the celebrations to them.

After our special Ward Toddle, the fun continued just a few days later as the hospital was transformed with a fantastic funfair! From exciting rides and hook-a-duck to delicious ice creams, there were lots of smiles and unforgettable moments for our Heart Heroes, their families and the amazing hospital staff. 🍦🎠✨
A huge thank you to Robertson Group for generously funding these activities and helping us create magical memories for children in hospital. Your support means we can continue bringing moments of joy, laughter and fun when they're needed most. Because every Heart Hero deserves to be part of the magic ❤️ by @chufofficial
