POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

hello♩ my name is astrid and i love stories about girls and friendship 💭🎂 nice to meet you #meettheartist

when i was in middle school i would go to the library every week to bring home a huge new stack of shoujo manga to devour ... even after all these years that remains my biggest artistic influence and inspiration ♡ i never run out of things to love ⊹ ࣪ ˖

my very belated artfight post 🥸
summer classes and texas heat ate away most of my energy this year so my participation was sparse to say the least... but truly i am just so happy to have drawn at all 😭💗 let's all draw forever!!!

characters pictured:
1. @redridingheart's conley 🌙🍒
2. @bunmellos's lark 🎻🎶
3. the sketch of conley that was actually uploaded to artfight (ᵕ—ᴗ—) i took some extra time to finish it...

both of your characters were so lovely so much fun to draw! i am looking forward to next year already 💌 ♫♪♩

my post chapter 72 (and pre ch. 73) imagination 🙇🏻‍♀️💭 shimamitsu oh how i love you…

discussing details now. out of context spoilers ahead ✋ you have been warned!

my vision for this was meant to be an extension of the last page for ch. 72.. you know when you hug someone with so much momentum you end up lifting them up for a brief moment? yes that is what i had in mind here. i wanted to take advantage of the experience of reading an ongoing series and capture my thoughts before knowing what actually happens next!! and i’m so glad i did because this isn’t what happened at all LOL but i couldn’t be happier with the reality 🥹 i’ve been a fan of the manga for years and still every month i find myself loving it more and more 😭😭💗💗💗

simple references i made to introduce my ocs for artfight!! there is still a week left to attack them this year if anyone feels so inclined 😚

i like to think of these designs as like 1.0 outfits carried over from the prim and proper lives they lead before their story really begins 🙇🏻‍♀️ the background i have written in their artfight profiles is kind of like a prologue to set up why they are where they are… and why euphie is a sheep…

after they are banished from their hometown they journey across the nation and find a somewhat obscure little town that seems to be full of magical misfits like them..! i am excited to see how they grow and change as they learn how to be comfortable in their own skin again 💗

redraw of one of kaurho shiina’s sawako illustrations 🌟 my first watercolor in like a whole year.. i don’t think i have ever gone so long without using it!! and what better way to get back into the medium than by painting my most favorite character in the whole world ☺️ sawako i will love you forever 🤍🌷🌼💗🎐

this is also my first time using a scanner instead of my usual way of photographing my artwork!! i’m not quite sure how i feel about it.. i like my usual set up but my phone camera could not capture the undertones for the hair color this time 😢 i feel like it is easier to see the insta-drop-in-quality like this though.. i will have to keep playing with settings to figure out how to best deliver my art 🙇🏻

hello instagram long time no see ☺️ i have missed sharing my drawings here. i actually finished this drawing back in october but completely started over the coloring earlier this month.. i took a lot of inspiration from the illustrations that were posted when the skip & loafer anime was airing!! it was a lot of fun ♡ my resolutions this year are all about rekindling my relationships with my favorite hobbies so please expect more in the future 🙇🏻‍♀️ there is much to look forward to by @chulaces
