What this moment means to me is bigger than basketball.

Growing up, my house was ESPN before ESPN. The screams, the debates, the celebrations, the heartbreak.

I was always the diehard Knicks fan, but this is about more than the Knicks.

It’s about New York. It’s about family. It’s about culture.

As a first-generation New Yorker/American (lol cause New York is a nationality lol )of Jamaican descent, I grew up watching my parents and family cheer for a Jamaican man on a New York team who came so close to bringing a championship home. Only To see him return decades later and help build a championship team from within the organization is something special.

This THIS moment signifies with the city it’s about resilience, always chasing your dream never giving up and watching it ALL Pay off in the end. New York, where dreams come a TRUE melting pot of different backgrounds / cultures. All to make it to that one American dream.
