A little pause in between my China tour last month, spending some time at Princess Ballet Academy and teaching a masterclass to the next generation of young dancers. 🩰 @jiajia_serafina @caoyang__

Stepping from the stage into the studio as a teacher always reminds me of what makes ballet so special — the passing down of knowledge, the joy of sharing, and the love for dance that connects us across generations.

Watching them learn, listen, and dance with so much curiosity brought me back to my own days as a student.

Grateful to share what I’ve learned along the way, and hopefully inspire them to keep dreaming toward their own stage. 🤍 by @chunnerstudio

Growth or self-care? I don’t think it’s ever one or the other.

After sitting down with this incredibly talented student Youn Jae Park @younjae_park from American Ballet Studio @abtstudioco , it reminded me that consistency and self-care have to go hand in hand. Some days you push harder. Some days your body and mind ask you to slow down. Both are part of becoming better.

The key is being present enough to have an honest conversation with yourself every day. What do I need today? More discipline? More rest? More patience?

Growth and health are teammates, not opponents. You can’t build a long career—or a meaningful life—without both.

This summer, Shanghai welcomes the extraordinary return of Chun Wai Chan @chunner together with the stars of the New York City Ballet.

A rare two-night gala presenting some of the most celebrated works of classical and contemporary ballet performed by artists who define today’s New York stage.

The program opens with Balanchine’s Apollo. It continues with iconic pas de deux from The Nutcracker and Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux, highlighting the company’s precision, musicality, and signature style.

The second act expands into a contemporary landscape featuring works by Justin Peck, Christopher Wheeldon, William Forsythe, and original choreography by Chun Wai Chan. Highlights include Butterfly Lovers Pas de Deux, a poetic bridge between East and West, and Sleeping Beauty Pas de Deux reimagined through the New York City Ballet lens.
