ᴘʀxᴊᴛ ʙʟxᴄᴋ ᴘᴛ.1 | “FRO-REAL” FRO-REAL is the first instalment of PRXJT BLXCK..This collection captures the transformative journey of a Black man as he parts with a vital aspect of his identity—his hair. Set against a minimalist brown backdrop, the shoot begins with the subject’s natural afro, symbolizing heritage, self-expression, and history. The hair-craftsman gradually cuts his hair, and each stage is photographed to reveal the emotional and physical evolution taking place. The session concludes with a full shoot featuring the subject’s new look, embodying renewal and self-redefinition. This AFRO-PHOTOJOURNALISM photoshoot highlights the elegant beauty embedded in Japanese culture while highlighting those same qualities in Black women. This project encapsulates the cultural collision between African American culture and historical Japanese culture.
