polarity.

this place is breathtaking. i wake up to mountains that are so high the tops are covered by clouds, water calms me, and the sun heals me. joy is simpler than i imagined.

people here live by ubuntu. i am because you are. i see you; you see me. i exist because of you.

and still, i feel anger in a place that reveals who it was built for long after its colonization. beauty can disguise so much.

so i hold both: gratitude and grief, calm and chaos, healing and heaviness.

the mountain creates shadows where the sun shines. the waves pull when we resist. i’m learning to stand in the tension without letting it harden me.

if i am because you are, then adversity is shared too.

polarity is inescapable, but so is connection, and i am learning to live within both. taken in Cape Town, Western Cape by @chxderaa
