Hello sweet friend… a poem for Jen It’s been a year now since you’ve passed I miss your smile, I hear your laugh. I still recall that fateful night… We joked of cancer at the Terence Crawford fight. Who would have thought, you’d be taken so soon. It’s not fair! I miss you! I often wish you were in the room! But through it all you shown so bright, You were so strong and taught us to love each other not fight. You encouraged us to live and count our blessings every day! And to turn to our Lord because that’s the only way! You spoke of hope as an anchor for our soul. You dreamed big, you lived large…cuz that’s just how you rolled. You made each person feel like they were the only one in the room! And even now I see you with every cardinal, with every butterfly, and with every bloom. But here today, as I look out at the peaceful lake, I especially feel your presence and I can’t help but question… This must be a mistake! For you loved so deeply, and touched so many. I know you surely had more to give! I think about your precious children, your loving husband, your beautiful family and your loving friends — Who are all trying to honor you as we continue to live. We miss you dearly! And I know the same must be true, That when we hear the words… Hello sweet friend… We instantly think of you! Thank you for all of your kindness, all your inspiration, and all the love you shared! You truly made me want to be a better person — and I’m thankful for how much you cared! Yet, despite our progress, 15 million babies are born prematurely every year globally—and premature birth is still the #1 killer of babies in the U.S. This problem is too big to ignore! I started thinking about this crazy big problem—and wondering how one person could ever possibly make a difference. Then I started thinking how there is power in numbers. And, I started wondering what would happen if I could get 80 people to donate even just $1, and they could get 80 people to donate, and so on, and so on. Maybe together we could start some sort of Change Reaction! If we can get just 80 people to donate $1, and they each get 80 people to donate $1 — 80² — we'll have raised $6,400 in only 80 hours. But, if we can truly achieve 80 to the power of 80, we'll have raised $1.766847e+152. Honestly, I can't even fathom how many lives this could save—but that is one crazy big number!
