Was feeling a bit lost after @lostandfoundbikeride but now starting find the rhythm again. Tough year for sure that limited some form, yet through it all there were some BIG mental gains to push me ahead. Still very stoked to be riding and completing some big sends with many more on the horizon.

Little backyard sidequest taking advantage of this absolutely insane zone I get to call home. Door to door loop traversing the Sierras that I had planned for about 2 years and finally had a chance knock it out.

You get to think a lot when riding 15hrs solo. The recurring theme of gratitude that my body can do this, the feeling of being immersed in such incredible areas is such a gift. Waves of all the feelings out there. Hard as hell but far from suffering, it’s a privilege and one I am grateful to express.

Already cooking up some other insane routes and can’t wait to dive into some more shenanigans out there.

This route is a beast! It’s always a pleasure ripping some of the best roads you could EVER ask for. Steep brutal climbs and twisty roads with diverse terrain. Always jaw dropping out here. 😍

Pulled some form out of the vault for the Elite race and landed better placing this year even finishing about 10 mins slower than last year. Blew the doors off on King Ridge and kept it with a few small groups until solo TT for the last 55 miles holding it to the line for a sub 7hr finish.

Actually pretty impressed with my performance on a less than ideal build up to this point. Absolute life stress maxxing is not great for the legs, but the mindset is holding strong.

Always stoked to rip with @enjoycyclingclub and wring it out in this amazing zone.
Now all about staying consistent so we can reach a new level later this year and check off some obscene routes I cooked up 👨🏼‍🍳

Feeling a bit more tuned up with BWR CA up next this weekend!

3 months, 2,300mi and 220,250ft of vert on this absolute weapon of a bike. The @ventumracing GS1

I have been exclusively riding this thing since new bike day on August 5th with only 1 single ride on mtb since then. Suffice to say this bike has totally blown away expectations.

I ran this bike in road & gravel mode and can assure you the bike rips SO hard in both. It is a true quiver killer. 🔥

Yes there are more capable gravel bikes, but I would be shocked if they can even come close to how this feels in road mode. This bike strikes an amazing balance of comfort, speed, aero and off road capability.

This bike was only 1mm stack/reach measurements off my road bike (Factor o2) but with a much longer wheelbase the bike is super planted in sprints and on those bumpy roads. At high speed the bike is extra slippery w/ aero shaping on head tube.
Weight is crazy impressive, my S frame at 895g & fork 381g uncut

For gravel this bike just rips.
Clearance for 57mm up front so you can run a 2.2 or 2.25 MTB tire on dry courses, I mostly ran the 50mm up front and supper happy with that.
Rear tire clearance is stated to be 50mm but would probably run 45mm if it is muddy as the chain stay is a bit tight.
69.5 HTA for max comfort on steep descents and rowdy terrain gives you a lot of confidence.

☠️ THE MEGAHOPPER🥉

Just wow 🫨
What an unreal experience. Finally all sinking in after this ridiculous send curated by @profuntour linking together a bunch of @grasshopperadventureseries rides into one seriously HEAVY route.

We got to tour basically every rad climb out here in one gargantuan ride. This was beyond anything I could have imagined. Brutally difficult. Insanely beautiful.

Start time Friday 7:33am for me, just behind Grand depart - finished at 6:06pm Saturday coming in🥉 behind @iamtedking and now FKT holder @rob_britton - they were FLYING off the front so it was just a steady solo battle for me to keep my head in the game.

At around 22 hours into the ride, fueling was getting really tough but kept it up best I could. The back half of the course got REAL, although the heavy chonk was mostly over it was the RELENTLESSLY steep pitches when you are so destroyed that are what made this so hard.

Breaking the ride into chunks really helped and just tried to lean into the absolutely INCREDIBLE zones that I was going through. This area is without a doubt one of the coolest places on this planet. No question.

It was a blessing being naïve to just how brutally difficult the route was. Every single climb out here is individually difficult in its own right, then to link them all together… Well that is the Megahopper.

Equipment setup was dialed. My @ventumracing GS1 was FLAWLESS all day. This bike is just an absolute weapon 🔥 Full bike check later, but for setup I ran @hutchinsoncycling Caracal race 45 rear/40 front. This was the perfect setup for this course. Tested my new 50mm deep @xmcarbonspeed road wheels out and they survived the day. Overall felt like I executed things pretty well, but definitely learned a LOT for next ultra. The new @enjoypedal bibs are seriously AMAZING and I would not survived without them. Seriously saved my 🍑

All in it was an amazing experience and will be something to remember forever.

Now recovery time 🙃

💔
Last month I lost my mom. 68 years of life and 36 years with us together in this world.

It still doesn’t feel real yet all so real at the same time.

The past month has been Muted.
A dulled tone on everything. Highs are not high. Lows are not low.

Waking up and having that sinking feeling that it actually happened.
Waking up and knowing there is finally peace for her. Waking up and knowing there is a future ahead.
Waking up fully realizing that every moment here is truly a gift, privilege to live, a privilege to learn and grow.
To fail. To succeed.
To feel it all and everything in between.

It was her time. The initial feelings of regret, wishing so badly for something else. Wishing I had more time, more words, more experiences together.
Wanting so deeply for life to occur in a way that suits my own terms, only acting as the upstream attempt of a resolution.

I have acceptance. And trust in this process.
Not easy but it doesn’t need to be.

This is why this place is so special. It isn’t forever. It hurts beyond belief. It can bring you to the highest highs and can rock you with the most insane lows.

Only temporal. There is light ahead. And eventually our time.

Grateful for the time we had, the opportunities she gave me and everything that was put in front of me because of her.

Her legacy is one of kindness. A heart that only wanted to give. The ultimate provider. I can’t thank her enough.

A perspective is gained but not without pain.

May you forever have peace

24hr full send for the Enjoy Boyz 🤠 @unboundgravel XL was a movie 🍿, XL wasn’t just a race, it was a mission, huddled the boyz up and agreed we wanted to do something that hopefully inspired others to do more! Moyamoya disease is a brain disease that often goes undiagnosed til it’s to late and get little awareness.

One of our Enjoy founders is living with Moyamoya, and this ride was about showing the world (and ourselves) that we’re still capable of more. Stronger than we think. Going further than expected.

As well we raised 1200$ for @restoringlivesfoundation , with @downtownfordsac and @ventumracing to match the donation up to 1000$! Thank you from all of us at Enjoy!

Unbound XL 🪽🪽🪽

What a ride. Grateful to experience this year’s @unboundgravel XL edition with the @enjoycyclingclub boys @vincemurdock and @nurse.fergie raising awareness for Moyamoya & support for @restoringlivesfoundation

The vibe was on point all weekend and can assure you all it isn’t just hype out there in Emporia 😊 ✌🏻

The ride itself was beyond expectations and is something I will never forget. Truly grateful to push the limits and show what can be overcome and accomplished when you put your mind to it.

Had some HIGH highs and some real LOWS out there 🌊 😵‍💫 🚀
Going from completely shattered at mile 220-280 but then motoring along ready for more (after some fresh squeezed lemonade 🍋) Mentally crushed by headwinds followed by full gas efforts at miles 340+, this ride really had it all⛽️ 🔥

Somehow this felt so much shorter than 24hrs but also just as long, hard to describe.

Really think this is just the beginning of some longer adventures ahead. Finally getting a taste of that ultra kool-aid and it’s a nice flavor😝 Next time I need more vert though, that’s for sure 🏔️
