"The game ends. Being a teammate doesn't."

Wednesday evening New Milford High School hosted Immaculate in a Teammate Promise Gray Out Game - raising awareness for brain tumors and reminding us all that the strength of a team reaches far beyond sports.

Kelsey Blom, a New Milford senior, had brain surgery late in her softball season last spring. A spring that would see New Milford make an inspiring run to the Class L Softball State Championship game.

Kelsey returned to playing softball over the summer and is now enjoying a (12-2) fall season to date with her field hockey teammates.

CIAC will share the full story of the Teammate Promise initiative in the coming months and let other schools know how they can get involved. @ctbta @newmilfordfhockey #Compassion #Service #Community #ctfh by @ciacathletics

Senior Night for Wethersfield Girls Soccer was a particularly special one for Ava Camilleri.
A Unified Soccer player for WHS and a Junior Varsity player for the Eagles, Ava got the call up to the Varsity team tonight and was in the starting lineup for Head Coach Matt Cameron.

Ava lives with Phelan-McDermid Syndrome and has challenges processing information. While Ava began playing soccer at age 4, her mother Amy says she never imagined a moment like this was possible. And Amy says, being announced as a starter and running out through a teammate tunnel of her typical peers was nothing short of a dream come true for Ava!

What a beautiful testament to kindness and inclusion. Way to go Wethersfield. #ChooseToInclude @wethersfieldathletics by @ciacathletics

The Rams and Tigers took the field last night with one shared mission: to “Eat the Bear.”

Coach Mike Ciotti, a former Hand player and coach and current Cheshire coach, has been battling cancer. In a powerful show of support, the two rivals met at the 50-yard line to honor Coach Ciotti and the lasting legacy he has built within both communities.

Together, they stand as one team: Team Ciotti. by @ciacathletics

What a great day at the 20th Annual CIAC Sportsmanship Conference! 🙌🏆

The day featured inspiring keynote presentations from @gamedayconor (Conor Geary) and Sebastian Little, interactive panel discussions on creating positive student sections, school and team culture, and CIAC Student Boards. Attendees also enjoyed the Legends & Lessons discussion with CIAC coaches, along with Class Act presentations, Michaels Cup and Fred Balsamo Sportsmanship Award recognitions, and so much more!

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this conference a success. Together, we’re continuing to build positive gameday environments and reminding everyone that everyone has a role to play in sportsmanship.

Thank you University of Hartford for your support! @universityofhartford
