Thank you for all of the birthday wishes!🤩 What a year it’s been! I was “gracefully broken,” as my dear friend told me. But I came through on the other side filled with God’s grace! Here’s what life has taught me this year:
🎉 Be authentic. Post the picture that you don’t like without editing it. Wear the sparkly shoes that you love! Laugh with your whole heart. We live in a world that’s made up and filled with ads. People gravitate towards you because you are genuine.
🎉 Ask for help. This has been a big one for me this year. I realized that I didn’t have to do it alone. Moreover, allowing others to help me made them feel good.
🎉 Go to coffee. Meet for lunch. It’s amazing what connecting with others does for your soul. You’ll feel better when you step away from your computer for a little while, and you’ll be more productive when you get back.
🎉 Pour into others! I’ve made it to where I am today because so many people took me under their wings. What an honor to be able
to help someone else grow.
🎉 Life is precious. But it doesn’t always go according to our personal plan. There will definitely be some bumps in the road. Sometimes, they’ll feel more like cliffs.
🎉 There will be days that are so unbelievably good that your teeth won’t stay inside your mouth because your smile is larger than life itself. Hold on to the memories of those days!
🎉 Count your blessings! There is so much to be thankful for.

The transition from child at home under your roof to young adult growing into her own is HARD. It’s emotional - you’re proud, happy, sad and all the in-betweens. But I couldn’t be more grateful! God allowed to be a mom to @saiblue03 and what a privilege it has been! She’s everything I am, but so much more. I’ve become a better person simply by stepping outside of my own wants to understand what she wants and what she needs. She is stronger and braver than I was at this age, and that lets me know that I’ve done okay. The journey is never over, but we are counting our blessings for this next phase. I love you, pumpkin! This year, Mother’s Day was just another day of me doing mom duties. I didn’t get to spend the day with my mom, sisters and grandma, like I love doing. Instead, I cheered on my middle daughter at her basketball games and drove across the state. When I got home, I ate leftovers. Then, to my delight and surprise, I was gifted a beautiful bouquet of roses, with a few lilies tucked inside, and a homemade German chocolate cake (my favorite kind; and I only like them homemade with homemade icing). The hand written notes reminded me that I am seen, despite sometimes feeling unnoticed. The next day, I checked the mail (because bills have to be paid), only to find a hand-picked Mother’s Day card, complete with a Starbucks gift card, from my own mom. On a day when I normally celebrate her, she was acknowledging me. Then I cried. Because life is lifing, and for the first time in a long time, I didn’t send her anything. But she knew exactly what I needed. Even as we grow up and have families of our own, how blessed we are to have moms who see us, pray for us and love us through. by @ciannblue
