MEET THE PUBLISHER 🚀 @ciaopress is an independent publishing house and ‘publishing playground’ founded by artist and designer Nicolas Polli in Switzerland around 2017 - 2018. Since the first book, they are willing to publish art, contemporary photography, illustration and design.

Meet @nicolaspolli and discover their titles at Photobook Mania 2026 on 3-4 October, 10am-8pm

Goodmorning beautiful people 🌻🌻🌻 this weekend we are excited to head towards the shiny Vevey for the 5th edition of Booklette, book fair organised in the frame of the 10th edition of @images_vevey come to find our titles as well as listening to two of our authors which they will speak Saturday (@misha_olga_bushkovs ) and Sunday ( @teufendominique ) during “Taklettes” the fair is both days from 11:00 to 19:00 by @ciaopress

Bonjour Arles! We are really excited to come back to Arles this year full of news! First, we are presenting a new book, just fresh out of press!!! @teufendominique Rays of Light will be available with early copies, make sure to get yours as we have just a few!!! We will also be at the book fair from Tuesday to Saturday, every day from 1pm till 7:30pm! We also teamed up with @images_vevey and @editionpatrickfrey as together with @prohelvetia we organize a pocket size book fair, 3 publishers, one day, no drama! Find us at cafe crème in 15 rue gambetta on Friday!!! Dominique will sign her book there from 6pm, or Thursday at the book fair at 18:30!!! See u in Arles ❤️❤️❤️ by @ciaopress

Helloooo! During the @bielerfototage we are going to show a couple of titles in what can be called our first pop up store! Find us at Paul Robert weg 11, Biel/Bienne. Open during the time of the festival, come to discover us ❤️ placed in the kitchen of what in the past was our kitchen ❤️❤️ discover super prices only for the pop up as well as a new title in limited edition of 49 copies by @sabine_hess and @nicolaspolli by @ciaopress

“The Black Rat Has Died” is a raw, bittersweet, and at times darkly ironic book about life, death, and family. Misha Bushkov interweaves intimate scenes of his wife’s pregnancy in Switzerland with pictures of his extended family 3,000 kilometers away in Russia. These images — made before the invasion of Ukraine — capture a world Bushkov now feels has irrevocably changed. Through cinematic sequencing and two deeply personal letters written after the birth of his son, Bushkov fuses tenderness, absurdity, and contradiction, capturing the dissonance of what it means to be a family across distance, borders, and time.⁠

Misha Bushkov entremêle des scènes intimes de la grossesse de sa femme en Suisse avec des clichés de sa famille élargie, à 3 000 kilomètres de là, en Russie. Ces images — prises avant l’invasion de l’Ukraine — capturent un monde que Bushkov estime aujourd’hui irrévocablement transformé. A Home with no Roof

This project is about the home where Sara grew up, a place where strangeness and the familiarity of the ordinary existed alongside. Being an intimate space, it should have been nurturing and reassuring. And yet, it was the scene of painful scenes. Today, she see this space as threatening. Uncomfortable, dysfunctional, her home is the witness to scars from the past.

In Sara's photographs, she revisit her memories and reclaim the power over her own body. Her tiny models express the identity of a young girl under construction, growing up with imbalance and wounds. Deconstructing, reconstructing, objects become bodies, bodies become objects: she feel deformed and petrified.

A Home with no Roof creates an antagonistic tension between seductive aesthetics and disquieting details. Miniatures enable me to regain control, distancing myself from the past and releasing new strengths to properly become an adult.

Ce projet porte sur la maison où Sara a grandi, un lieu où l'étrange et la familiarité du quotidien cohabitaient. En tant qu'espace intime, il aurait dû être réconfortant et rassurant. Et pourtant, il a été le théâtre de scènes douloureuses. Aujourd'hui, elle perçoit cet espace comme menaçant. Inconfortable, dysfonctionnel, son foyer est le témoin des cicatrices du passé.

Dans ses photographies, Sara revisite ses souvenirs et reprend le pouvoir sur son propre corps. Ses minuscules maquettes expriment l’identité d’une jeune fille en construction, grandissant dans le déséquilibre et les blessures. Déconstruisant, reconstruisant, les objets deviennent des corps, les corps deviennent des objets : elle se sent déformée et pétrifiée.

A Home with no Roof crée une tension antagoniste entre une esthétique séduisante et des détails inquiétants. Les miniatures me permettent de reprendre le contrôle, de prendre mes distances avec le passé et de libérer de nouvelles forces pour devenir pleinement adulte. by @ciaopress
