my best advice + tips re shadowing!!! 💕🩺💗💐🏥

this was much requested and i also wanted to share how my opportunities came about!! most PAs are truly and genuinely willing to help in any way they can! shake/dance all the jitters out, take a deep breath, and put yourself out there—they may just say yes!!!! 😁😁

and i do want to also say that sometimes it’s not you, it could just be the lack of providers unable to allow shadowing due to a number of reasons!! i talk about this in another post from when i applied previously, but if you’re struggling to get hours despite all your efforts, there ARE programs where it isn’t a requirement or viewed as strongly as a preference!! so important to apply to schools that line up best with your application + make you appear as competitive as possible 🔥

i hope this was helpful and another big emphasis on the last slide—all you can do is try!!! 🫶🏾

rejection is redirection 🙏🏾💘🩷💖💓🙌🏾💝💞💕

DISCLAIMER: it’s 1000% okay to feel your feelings about rejection!!!! it’s not a great feeling and im grateful for my support system who’s literally kept me sane throughout the process.

ultimately, not getting in this past cycle has only made me want to become a PA more. like any normal person, i questioned my career choices as rejection letters kept coming in. and it was in those moments where my why became stronger and filled with more strength and desire to become a physician associate! and i know one of these days, PA-C will be at the end of my name. and i wanted to share this for anyone who winded up in the same position. you’re not incapable, you’re time is just loading! i hope these tips and post help those who also didn’t get the news you wanted and reminds you to keep your head up because you absolutely should! 🫶🏾🙇🏾‍♀️💝

HIII I am so happy you’re here!!! :)) My name is Ciara and I just graduated from UD in May (ROLL HENSSSS) I received my Bachelor of Science in Medical Diagnostics with a concentration in Pre-Physician Assistant and a minor in Nutrition! I am currently working as a MA at a dermatology office and am also a Certified Phlebotomy Technician :))

As everyone’s journey is different, I wanted to make this account to document my experiences to becoming a PA one day! I think it’s so beautiful that everyone gets to have their own experiences, and I want to share mine throughout my journey for anyone that wants to follow along! I’ll be sharing my past experiences, current experiences, and everything to come!! It’ll be a mixture of both my healthcare and life experiences and I can’t wait to start sharing my passion and journey with you guys!!

I want to be a safe space for literally anyone. I love to yap about healthcare, but equally love sharing this crazy, funny, silly journey called life! Everything happens for a reason & I’m so grateful you found yourself here 🫶🏾 by @ciarainscrubs

2 year anniversary of @ciarainscrubs EEEK 🥹

some snippets of advice i have learned along the way + some of these things i still have to remind myself!

to see where i am now versus 2 years ago is so surreal to me and truly all part of God’s plan. i’ve met so many incredible people within the healthcare community and beyond me two years ago would’ve never imagined! i couldn’t be more thankful and lucky to have this community where i can show the ups and downs of my journey of life, met so many kindhearted and inspiring individuals, work with brands i could only dream of, and have fun being myself! thank you God! and thank you all for being here :))

and trust me…we are just. getting. started. 😁🫶🏾🙇🏾‍♀️✨
