A true electro masterpiece, this record includes 4 tracks by the Kent-native producer and artist Cignol. His sound is a rich tapestry of retro sounds inspired by his childhood in the 80s (Herbie Hancock’s “Rockit” being one of his major influences) and complex melodies, going from acid techno to braindance.

Fans of E.R.P Convextion will dig this!

For this new Acid Avengers release, we welcome two producers who were influenced as much by electro as by IDM : Ireland based producer Cignol, who has released some killer EPs on @furthurelectronix @uttu.club and @noctanumerica to name a few, and german artist Vertical67, known for several bomb records on @brokntoys @analogicalforce and @mechatronicamusic . From melancholic electro to outer space braindance, here is a 4-track EP mixing alien synths, martian breaks and 4/4 rythms, especially made for 303 junkies!

Jim Thompson - High Score Table - Cignol Remix

Known to many a canny Bandcamp digger through his excellent Lost Acid albums, @jimthompsonuk is a London based producer, skater & designer. His debut vinyl release came last year on Ooz Records, run by @laurence.ooz Laurence, an estimable selector based in the excellent @palace_vinyl Records store in Brixton.

The release caught the attention of System One head D. Howard who followed the trail & found High Score Table, a captivating mid tempo acidic chug with aching pads & an old school charm; exactly the kind of track that needs to be played on vinyl at an after hours…

A conversation began, pints were sunk & the idea was spawned; lets make a killer ep with another Glytek cut, The Hollow Tree, 2 phenomenal new cuts - the muscular sub acidic tweaker Cruiser and Numerology, a late night trippy gem - and 2 remixes including top tier Irish electro don, @cignol , who has made some of the finest cuts to grace the System One basement over the last few years.

The super Cignol remix is out now, cinematic strings building as the acid filters through. Stream it on any platform or purchase on Bandcamp, link in bio

Preorder limited edition hand numbered 6 track vinyl on the Bandcamp page - link in bio

Stream the entire ep on our Soundcloud page - link in bio

An accomplished video producer, Jim has made videos to every track, stand by for these, the first one for the CIgnol remix is on the System Youtube channel & it’s a peach, check it out - link in bio
