Can you spot the two climbing arborists?

Did you know fall and winter are a great time to have your trees pruned? At this time of year, trees are entering dormancy. Trees are not depending on their leaves and pest pressure is low.

It’s especially important to have oaks pruned this time of year to help prevent the spread of oak wilt.

Fall is also a great opportunity to apply soil care to your valued trees and shrubs.

Happy fall!

We are still dealing with the consequences from the August 11 extreme weather event. So many families affected and trees lost. It’s a great feeling to have the skills and equipment to help those in need.

We had a great time at the Cincinnati touch-a-truck event. Kids had the opportunity to get up close and personal to our forestry truck. It’s so fun to hear their questions and thoughts of what it might be like working high in the trees for work.

Now is a great time to have your ash trees treated for EAB.

Since 2002, the invasive pest Emerald Ash Borer has wreaked havoc on Ohio ash trees. It’s estimated that Ohio has lost over 87 million ash trees because of EAB.

Now, 22 years later, the EAB population is back on the rise. This is due to many ash in our Ohio seed bank now reaching a maturity where they become a viable food source for the hungry larvae.

Every year ash trees become more rare as Ohio residents continue to have their ash cut down. Our Cincinnati Bartlett office proudly protects thousand of ash trees in the south west corner of Ohio. Preserve a piece of Ohio history and have your ash trees treated. taken in Cincinnati, Ohio by @cincy.arborist

Happy 116th birthday to Bartlett Tree Experts!

Did you know Bartlett is one of the oldest tree companies in the United States, founded in 1907! They have been the spear head of scientific tree care ever since!

As an arborist, I have a lot of pride in working at Bartlett. Trees are ever changing and our research laboratories continue to improve the world of arboriculture. by @cincy.arborist

Just before spring, Bartlett organized an event for all of the Plant Health Care Specialists from our division to get together and prepare for success. It was a great opportunity to meet other team members and share strategies for successful treatment in the field.

One of Bartlett’s entomologist, Dr. Kevin Chase, gave several presentations on new products available and creative solutions for common afflictions seen in the landscape. Including bio control using natural predators.

I so appreciate having access to ask questions face to face with the research scientists from our lab. There’s so much pride in being a part of Bartlett Tree Experts.

In my first year with Bartlett I have been deeply impressed with their dedication to scientific research and education. The field of arboriculture is ever changing, we are continuously learning so we can provide the best tree and shrub care.

Our team had a great time installing a cable system in this high stretching walnut for a Cincinnati family a few weeks ago.

Promoting tree health and longevity is such a rewarding career. Tree care has a lasting legacy, which is why proper care and understanding of what a tree needs is so important. What a terrific feeling it is, to walk away from a job knowing our efforts helped improve a trees’ chance to live a longer life of casting shade and standing tall. taken in Village of Greenhills, Ohio by @cincy.arborist

This year, for Arbor Day, Josh and I went out into the community to answer tree questions. We both really enjoy these events. It’s a great opportunity to answers a lot of questions many people have about their trees and shrubs at home. We get a wide range of questions. People ask for help identifying trees, they ask for our recommendations of what to plant in their specific landscape, pruning cycles, soil amendments , plant diseases and so much more. We meet many other passionate tree lovers every time we set up our table.
