Dear Cindy,
“ Along the way, there are so many people who will tell you that you are too much. Too opinionated, Too loud, Too bold, Too headstrong, Too direct, Too emotional, Too outspoken, Too honest, Too diligent( girl, I know 😂 but stay with me). Many times than you could count, you will be made to feel like a villain, a problem that needs to be fixed and they will insinuate time and time again you need to reduce yourself to “be like others”.

Do not listen to them because there’s NOTHING wrong with you and you will encounter a lot of people who will hold space for you, love you ( oh yeah! ❤️) and affirm your entire existence. Oh, my darling girl, in every room you enter, you will always find your people. Their voices will trample over the others but above all, the voice of God will be your identity🤍.

Lastly, please never stop speaking….for yourself and for others because your voice is your power and it will eventually make sense someday. “

📌Now, I know, I know this is not linkedIn but bear with me😂.
This moment right here is monumental for me. My story is a very popular one in this country, that of struggle for opportunity. I hated that period where I tarmacked for a job, little did I know, God will use it for His glory.
Now, that experience is what I use to advocate for youth inclusion in rooms I would have never thought I would be in and in conversations I would have never thought I would be a part of.

( A huge S/O to my community for being there, praying for me, celebrating me, gassing me up and encouraging me ❤️.

And to the stars of the show @nebthemc and @_kioko_____ thank you for your support, accompanying me and for not allowing me to do this alone❤️. When imposter syndrome almost got the best of me, y’all were God’s strongest soldiers fr😂. I am deeply grateful ❤️)

It’s MY BIRTHDAY! 🥳🥳🎂

So, I had a different, more “glamorous and instagram worthy” post depicting my most quintessential self as is customary on this app because this is Instagram and one thing about this app is we are all fabulous, okay! 😂..

They say we plan and God laughs😂. As I was reflecting and praying when the clock struck midnight, in my secret place with God I quickly realized that what I had in mind did not correctly represent the year I had and how I wasn’t correctly representing my blessings.

A year ago, I took a leap of faith and moved to a rural community in a remote part of Meru bordering Isiolo called Lairang’i doing humanitarian work. I lived a very minimalistic lifestyle and didn’t have the luxuries of the city (it’s looking real composition-ish😂! Just realized I lived one of my school compositions😂! I really was ahead of my time!😂)

These are the faces of the people who took me in, loved me, took care of me, taught me, communed with me, fed me, prayed for and with me and supported me all through. You think that you go to a place to help people but they end up impacting you even more❤️

I wouldn’t have had the year that I did without them and I wouldn’t be the person that I am today without them❤️. They restored humanity to me in a season where the world had let me down so badly. They will probably never understand how much I value them but it was important to me that they are seen❤️.

I had the best year of my life yet. I experienced love like never before. I experienced God’s favour like never before. I was very peaceful, content and happy. In isolation, I experienced God and His love in a way I can’t even describe🤍. It brings tears to my eyes every single time I think about it.

I lived a lifestyle I would previously consider spartan but it’s been the most priceless experience of my life. I am excited for the future and in this new chapter just like Enoch, I desire nothing more than to walk with God❤️.

Happy birthday Cindy❤️.
May you never forget how blessed you are ❤️
