we were able to achieve 𝟏𝟎𝟎% coverage for this 𝑳𝒖𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒛𝒊𝒂 𝑮𝒂𝒛𝒆 set using 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢è𝐫𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝, blending 𝟑 different types of 𝑺𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒚 𝑳𝒂𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒔 until the right harmony appeared between:

it is not enough for an extension to look lovely when it is first placed;

it must also be 𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐲 to the 𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒊𝒕, so that 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 may be achieved without asking that lash to 𝒃𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒊𝒕 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅.

this highest degree of attention to details naturally asks for time investment, and some of my guests, having a very high lash count, may enjoy deep sleep in my chair for 𝟒-𝟓 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬.

𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥 + 𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐞-𝐩𝐢𝐞’𝐬 first day together at the park. for such curious cats these babes were timid, still their eyes were fixated on the sky being slowly 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒆𝒑𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒍𝒊𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒅 𝒈𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒃𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒖𝒔, they did not notice mine on them

as the shadow attempted to slip off the fine verdant leaves & onto my cheeks, we started bringing the stroller home with 𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐞-𝐩𝐢𝐞 (the chonk) neatly tucked inside

every time i turned my head to look back, my girl 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐲 was frolicking across the evergreen summer field 𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒖𝒔

(𝑚𝑦 𝑔𝑖𝑟𝑙𝑠 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑎𝑙𝑤𝑎𝑦𝑠 𝑠𝑒𝑐𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑑 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑠𝑎𝑓𝑒𝑡𝑦 𝑐𝑜𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑟𝑠, 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑛 𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝑙𝑜𝑐𝑘𝑒𝑑 𝑖𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑑𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑜𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑟)

suddenly i am an 𝟖-𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫-𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 again, under the amber sky of 2000s Vietnam, embraced by the glowing green meadow with my kitten by my side, and 𝐡.𝐧, my 𝟐 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬

my jade bangle somehow found its way around the kitten’s neck, it must have been our 𝒈𝒊𝒓𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒉 𝒈𝒊𝒈𝒈𝒍𝒆𝒔 that helped it relax & come off. 𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒅 & 𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒑𝒔 𝒔𝒌𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒅, my darling little cat was following at our heels as the sun, too, was leaving the scene

this 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐲 might have formed & stayed simply because amidst the 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆 𝒍𝒂𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒆𝒓, i was afraid my cat could not be set free from the bracelet ..

perhaps it was the combination of the summer’s warmth fading with the flickering light, the silken meadow grass reaching for our knees, the 𝒑𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑𝒔 one could never replicate as adults

this evening’s golden glow & kitty following my steps remind me of 𝟖-𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫-𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐦𝐞 & her kitten & her best friend’s 𝒑𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒔

like a favourite short film on repeat, those 𝒗𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒅 𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒔𝒖𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒓 are embedded in the membrane of my eyes, 𝒅𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒓𝒖𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌

𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒊 𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒏 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅𝒔 ✩

much fun was had while creating my gorgeous lash bebe’s engagement post 2 Mondays ago, and i wish to share a bit of how these worlds came to be, simply because i find beauty in every step of the things we do 🎀

perhaps my favourite part is that none of these ideas begin with asking what would look the most impressive. they begin with my beautiful lash muse; what she chose to adorn herself with, the places she graced with her presence, and what she wished to cherish through her photographs.

the other best part of this is indulging my day immersing myself in the album my girl sent me. for this particular travel album, we had over 50 photographs from my sweet girl’s trip through 🇯🇵 & 🇰🇷. somewhere amongst them, an artistic thought was born: let us merge her 𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔 🌹

i love her fanciful shot of the Haenyeo statue on Udo Island’s volcanic shore + how gorgeous she looked in her private ofuro, so i wondered what new beauty might appear if the 2 worlds were to meet 🌌

for her bedroom mirror photograph, it was inevitable that 𝐌𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐅𝐮𝐣𝐢, in that dreamy shade of azur, belonged behind this beauty in her ethereal blue dress 🏔️

the same mini art director in me wanted to see the Lovebirds against the majestic cliffs of 𝐒𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐥𝐜𝐡𝐮𝐥𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐠, while the adorable plushie sitting so sweetly on the bed made me want to bring the ocean a little closer to us 🌊

sometimes i keep dreaming past the present altogether. i wanted to see how my lash babe might look as a beautiful Barbie in the intricate lace top she had chosen, carried into an 80s Barbie-pink world. i like old-school classic 🩷

in 2020 my little baby cousin once asked, ‘doesn’t it take a lot of work to make your posts?’. i let her in on the secret that it never felt like work. ‘what makes you think that?’ i was curious

‘𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒅𝒐 🥰’

i have treasured that warm affirmation ever since ♥️ my baby girl was still a bebe, yet she understood perfectly well that 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒊𝒕𝒔 𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒖𝒏𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒚 𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒌 ♡ by @cinderellashes

🪭 its 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 creates a deeper, darker base with far fewer extensions than 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧 or 𝐌𝐞𝐠𝐚 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐞,

🪶 around my lash bebe’s 𝒃𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒍𝒚 𝒃𝒆𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒆𝒚𝒆𝒔, they appear like 𝒔𝒐𝒇𝒕, 𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒗𝒆𝒕-𝒃𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝒊𝒏𝒌: all the rich darkness of 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐞, without the fluffy caterpillars above (𝒊 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒑𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒔)

🌼 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐞 is among the oldest & most beloved traditional arts of lashing, & there is something tender in watching 𝒂𝒏 𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒘 𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏

🪽 here, a 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐥 outside the familiar 𝐂, 𝐂𝐂 & 𝐃 family was chosen to lift the 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝-𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐬 many of my girls possess, & draw 𝒂 𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒉, 𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒌 𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆 around her eyes

there is a particular pleasure in being 𝑟𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑑 by someone one has grown fond of when far from home, especially when a photograph allows us, for a moment, to witness 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 🌱

as her journey carried her through 🇯🇵 & 🇰🇷, our lovely guest was kind enough to share these glimpses with me …

each seemed to preserve 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒎𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝒊𝒕𝒔 𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒓 🌹

🌊 the sea is almost luminous blue against the dark volcanic shore, white water breaking brilliantly over black rock.

there is a 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 in it, as though life is already beautiful & somehow on the verge of becoming dearer still …

🌿 the canal is green & hushed between the old houses, the summer mountains gathered softly beyond them …

the stillness feels almost like 𝒂 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒕𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒓𝒚, 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒅𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 … 🏡

🍓 the strawberries catch the sunlight with such a bright, lacquered redness that they appear almost jewel-like ..

even the smallest pleasure seems touched by that 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭-𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 which makes a moment worthy of being treasured ..

🗻 later, mount fuji rises beyond the great windows as the last light turns everything soft & silvery ..

the hour carries the lovely sense that 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒎𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆.

they are the sort of photographs one is genuinely delighted to receive.

they do not merely say, “look where i am.”

they say, rather more affectionately, 𝒊 𝒔𝒂𝒘 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒊𝒕 𝒕𝒐𝒐.

and then, among all those beautiful things, there was suddenly 𝐚 𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 💍

i think that was what touched me most.

nothing in the photographs seemed to be waiting solemnly for 𝐚 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐜𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧.

🌱 when i look at this photograph, what matters to me first is not simply that the extensions are still present at 𝟕 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐬. what matters is the 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉𝒚 𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒘𝒕𝒉 beneath them.

🍃 our natural lashes do not 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 simply because extensions have been applied. they continue to 𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒘, 𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 & 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒅 according to their own cycle, and we believe the extension should be designed to 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞 rather than struggle against it.

🗺️ this becomes especially important for the woman who may spend 𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐬, 𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐬, abroad. her lashes should not suddenly become 𝒂 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒃𝒍𝒆𝒎 simply because she cannot return to us every 3 weeks.

📜 there was a time when 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 was simply accepted as part of wearing extensions. we rather think that belongs to an 𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒓 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒉 𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒚.

🕊️ at Cinderellashes, we want an extension to remain 𝒃𝒆𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒇𝒖𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒅 as the natural lash grows, while remaining feather-light, healthy + blending into the overall aesthetic—since its growth has been accounted for since day 1 of designing this set 💕

🌸 she is a 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧 before a single extension is applied, and that is precisely why our work should 𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒎 𝒉𝒆𝒓.

🎀 we chose lashes that would 𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒂𝒄𝒆 rather than compete with it. whether she is wearing a 𝐬𝐰𝐢𝐦𝐬𝐮𝐢𝐭, 𝐚 𝐜𝐚𝐩, 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 or very little makeup at all, the design continues to 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒆.

👒 there is a particular pleasure in creating lashes for a woman whose life does not remain in 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠. she may be 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 one week, photographed the next, dressed beautifully for dinner that evening & completely relaxed taken in Nicaragua by @cinderellashes

When I wake up, they look amazing and each lash is properly set in the right place. what I rather love about this particular set is how naturally the lift seems to belong to her beauty 🕊️

the lashes rise gorgeously from the root, the healthy length remains visible from the front, & the outer corners no longer seem to fall downwards.

✦ a 𝒄𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒏, 𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅 base.

✦ a more 𝒑𝒐𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒅 outer line.

✦ lashes that remain 𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈, 𝒔𝒐𝒇𝒕, & 𝒇𝒍𝒖𝒇𝒇𝒚.

that is really the pleasure of having some of the newest 𝑨𝒅𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒅 𝑺𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒚 𝑪𝒖𝒓𝒍𝒔 to choose from. we are able to select what suits her natural lashes rather than asking her lashes to suit the curl.

𝐈. 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐥, 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 & 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

when she tells me about her previous experiences with C & D Curls, I know exactly what she needs.

she notices that her lashes become droopier as they grow, the outer corners lose some of their lift, & the 2-week retention is not quite what she wishes it to be.

her natural lashes are naturally straight, & that tells me a great deal about how each curl interacts with their direction of growth:

✦ the lash line can become 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒓 with an unsuiting curl.

✦ the outer corners can begin to 𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒅.

✦ the original lift becomes less 𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒆 over time, sometimes even crowding her vision.

I am actually excited at this point, because these are exactly the circumstances in which our wider curl collection can be useful.

𝐈𝐈. 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐥 𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭

the Traditional C Curl in this foreign set begins its curve very early.

on a straight or slightly downward-facing natural lash, that rounded base may only meet a small portion of the natural lash it contacts with.

so we may have:

✦ a 𝒔𝒎𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒓 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒄𝒕 𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒂, creating less favourable conditions for 𝒓𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏.

✦ a lash that travels more 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅 than upward, meaning the set becomes visually 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒓 as it grows.

there is nothing terribly mysterious about it.

the C Curl simply is not the happiest companion for the direction of her natural lashes. 🎎
